I hope boxing stays popular for a long time, the biggest issue is they (boxing promoters and fighters) need to continue to put on the best fights possible. Some grappling is boring-"the lay and pray" wrestling but people just need to become more educated on grappling so they can appreciate it.

Ok. Showtime had a tournament of the top 6 super middleweights in the world, which turned into 9 because fighters were getting injured. Ward won every fight. So now they mad careers not look tantalizing, and I think only 2 fighters had losses on their records. So you put the best to fight the best and the loser sometimes gets written off, so everyone gets what they want but the fighter. I agree with you on that last sentence.

Thank goodness the other championship fight prior to the main event was actually action packed for the those who paid a war pension to watch it live on PPV. I think golf actually has more action than the Mayweather vs. Canelo-Alvarez fight had.

Grappling is mostly boring, unless they are going to do a Rampage like slam, they are just like two men hugging. I see the different moves, how you can tweek a hip, a knee, a ankle, a toe, but I watch it for the striking (ers), Rampage, Chuck, Jones, the Diaz brothers, Penn, Frankie, GSP, Lei, Noons. I hate, I forget their names, the guy from the Army, the guy who beat Toney, the guy who was longtime belt holder of middleweight, I respect them, a win is a win, but hate that stuff!

It happened they both earned the huge paydays, it was a huge event( biggest in the sports history) Mayweather beat him easy. Manny threw Less punches And landed only 18 percent Claimed he had a shoulder injury before the fight and said salt water healed it. Thank me later.

Oh it will! It has been popular for more then 100 years, and will stay that way for 100 more to come. The thing about boxing is, it's a business, if fighters and promoters want to make money, they cannot have the best fight the best too early, look at the Super Six, Andre Ward won it all without losing a fight, and still hasn't seen PPV money yet. It's good for the fans, but as a fighter, they should want to get paid for taking punches to the head.

People only watch MMA becaues there is a higher chance someone will get knocked out because of the brick they call gloves. Now my thing is why use gloves in the first place??! It's mostly watched because of the striking, the grappling is boring. There was one fight I liked because of the grappling and that's because the 2 fighters kept reversing each others moves. If it was fading they would have had the Jones fight on the same night as Floyd's, but Dana learned his lesson.

If Mayweather could get to 90 wins without a loss then i would be amazed. Julio Cesar Chavez did it. And his fights were really entertaining "He stayed aggressive the whole fight". What happened to favoring the aggressor in boxing? Mayweather is a good well rounded fighter and is gifted with speed that not too many or maybe even none besides "pacman" can come close too. He is too scared to lose, so he runs. Hits n run.
