So many things to explore, and I never have enough time, so thanks for showing us some of the capabilities.

Nice video. Love this synth and it’s wonderful to see videos on creating classic piano synth sounds

That's pretty cool! :D One more idea on the subject: I like to use sinusoid wavetables on the modulator, and morph the waveshape with an envelope. That creates a patch that sounds like it stacks way more operators than it really does. ;-)

Noted. That's a pretty good idea. :)

I have a 1986 little Yamaha which has slidders to modulate the chip and basically classic FM is all it can do.

Some of those PSS keyboards are more capable than you'd expect. I once had a PSS 480 which was an FM synth with MIDI interface.

@@mr_floydst Yes very true this one I have was sold as a toy keyboard pss 570 but was unique because it had controls to mod the sound chip. Still popular today among the sythersizor modding community.

Nice patch. However I am confused about your Amp ADSR Sustain stage description and I am wondering about carrier/modulator assignment: I think FM 01>02 means 01 is the modulator, modulating 02 (carrier).
@mr_floydst3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! You're right on both. I did this video without a script and I often confuse sustain and release while talking freely. :-)

Hello, I got one yesterday, any ideas on getting a good selection of nice presets? It didn't seem to come with much that I would actually want use in My music unlike the MiniNova which instantly got Me creative with many of the factory protests. I want nice rich pads and deep or dark leads and ofcourse bass.

Thanks for watching! Ok, here's a shameless plug :-) floydsteinberg.gumroad.com/l/IEkhx And of course, you'll find a lot of free patches within components, Novations companion software.

umm, how many fm devices to you have, exactly? :D
@mr_floydst4 жыл бұрын
Jokular answer: Everything is an FM device if you want to. Straight answer: 2 (Digitone and that DIY synth), PEAK is a subtractive synth first and foremost.
