Thats my daily work, as i work at a ship yard. But it still nice to see our work explained for non yard workers. Make a cut at 3:00. Dont just go to next Topic although similar.

@ 7:14 . . . . forging is hardly just to give the metal it's required shapes and sizes. It improves the mechanical properties of the metal by producing directional alignment of the grain for important properties in strength, ductility, and resistance to impact and fatigue. The grain flows conform to the shape of the part giving the part this superior durability.

Great video, never been on a ship. But by watching accidents happen at sea. I think I will never get on a ship. Info on your videos, are helpful. Plus, I don't know how to swim. I would love to be there during drydock, just to see what takes place,
