About those 5150 strings when i used them they had the frankenstein stripes like his guitar on the package. all they are is custom gauge EB "rock and roll" pure nickle wounds. you can get them for $6 a pack in 9-42 to this day. the 5150 set had a .015 plain G string in place of the 0.16 and 0.40 low E instead of 0.42. those are the only differences.

The second guitar that's all chopped up looks like the guy is trying to bypass some kind of local/federal law or tax treaty in order to sell guitar parts. In this case it looks like he's selling pickups. It makes zero sense if he's selling a guitar, but it becomes feasible if he's selling parts.

@@WilDBeestMF The woodwork on the body is top notch. Being that it's oak, it's fairly heavy. The neck & everything else is indeed from an Epiphone. I don't know the guy that well, only spoke with him a few times, but seems like a real nice guy ... he put a lot of work into the guitar.

That seahorse had an acid effect on me, Flotation is groovy, even a jellyfish would agree to that lol. Covid for two years can make some people do some strange things for sure. Very very strange things on Reverb, you covered it well. $300 for EVH strings? uh, no lol. That other guitar was a coffee table with strings on it.

The 5150 strings came out in the mid 80's. I used to buy them in bulk to put on my Kramer guitars.

I wanna say the 5150 strings came out in 1990. The thing is, EVH collectors can be insane and this dude will probably get $300 for them. Those strings are from the late 90’s up to about 2002ish. Post EVH and Ernie Ball. When Ed was with EB, the packaging had the striped pattern on it and they changed it to that design after he left in September of 95.

I have a 60s Marshall cab with a brace like that. In all reality, it's a cheap piece of pine. Humans in our present form have been walking around for 200,000 years. We've got to stop going crazy over stuff as recent as the 60s.

Absolutely, vipers are pretty great guitars. I have an older Ltd viper baritone with the emg hz passive pickups and play it almost daily. One of the best players I have and I own a Gibson lol

A pre EQ make your life so much easier with all the pedals and cabs you'll use with your guitar, if there's a frequency problem or you want to reach a specific sound, you dont have to worry too much about the rest of the gear

I have a unused set of the Ernie Balls sitting here - the ones with the stripe pattern on the front of the packet, rather than the plain ones shown here. It isn't worth $50 - Same with the vintage pack of Dean Markley Blue Steel (cryo activated) strings I have sitting around. Interesting nostalgia pieces - but not worth big $
