One of the body packs took a really hard fall on the concrete floor of our rehearsal space, and the headphone jack broke on it. Other than that, haven't really had any issues. The sound quality could always be better, but I'd rather use these for the money than a more expensive IEM.

Plug one into a L output, and plug one into a R output, and still be able to pan your sound Left and right? Your receivers are still set to channel ONE so wouldn't you receive the signal from both transmitters set to channel one? or does it just not work that way?

Isn’t this operating at 2.4GHz? Wouldn’t it be less about location and more about how many people in the venue are using WiFi on their phones?
@OmniusDWorgen4 жыл бұрын
Yes, and even that depends on how well they made the code for the device (I don't know the answer, haven't checked it yet)
@10a3asd4 жыл бұрын
No, cell phones use different frequencies for cellular connections. Cell phones being in the area wouldn't cause an issue on it's own. That said, if a bunch of people turned on their cell phone's hot-spots, or if they were all connected to WiFi at the venue then yes, you'd run a risk of interference. That is also something that can't really be fixed by code.

Would you be able to connect this to a floor monitor with a speakon to xlr adapter at venues instead of connecting it to a mixing board? That way the range isn't as much of an issue, and you still have use of the floor monitors if needed?

Do not plug it into anything with a speakon. Speakon is meant to carry power and you will blow this up. If the floor wedges are using xlr or 1/4 inch and are active speakers then you can plug in to that.

I have built a rack for my band and all that's left is the IEM wireless units. Instead of using an x32, we are using a laptop running Reaper and a Behringer UMC1820 that has 1/4" line outs. Are these available in 1/4" jacks, or would we need 1/4" to XLR adapters? Also, due to the narrow space between the outputs, we would be using short extension cables, with the units velcro'd to a shelf towards the front of the rack (in other words not completely buried inside the rack, but not completely visible either). How much might that interfere with signal dropouts? Does anybody know from experience? Thanks.

I've been using a G30 in every rehearsal/gig for the past 5 years, so far no problem at all. The band itself is very busy but there are many ways you can get around it with your comm protocols. That's why the band itself is good for people who play internationally, because UHF frequencies are controlled differently in different countries. How reliable the specific product is... depends. The Guitar Geek tried this one out with a lot of other 2.4GHz noise running around, and according to him it went fine

I have one and so does the singer in my band. It is great, with the rechargeable nature and small package I prefer it to the Sennheiser system I used to have. The sound guy at our regular venue is cool but even if you get an asshole, he just has to treat it like an XLR lead going to a wedge. Or you can unplug the XLR cable going into your wedge and plug the dongle in there, and the sound guy doesn't need to do a single thing different.

5ms is not near ZERO, man what you are talking about ? Are you trying to sell that product and need to use marketing BS phrases ? First thing - 5 ms change the way how you feel your instrument. Second, When you use instrument digital system 5ms + digital mixing console 2-3 ms + working in Dante network 4ms and + digital IEM 5ms, then it is NOT neer zero at all !!! It will be somwhere near 15-20 ms and that is A LOT! Now 2,4 GHz transmission is for wedding musicians, not for pro instrumentalist. If you will use that system on big stage 3000-5000 or more people, your system will fail heavily because of wifi and bluetooth transmiters stays on inside smartphones, no matter how close you are to your transmitter with your reciever. Cheers!
