lol, i've had several cats in my life (seven, if i remember correctly...over 40+ years, though none for 10+ years), and *none* of them ever purred when they were scared or stressed, so i have no idea what that "source" is talking about. cats are hyper vigilant, and defensive when they are scared and stressed.
