sometimes it feels like this is the ultimate tease from Disney, they've been referencing the original attraction for over 20 years now and nothing is happening

Nostalgia sells and is cheap to mass produce. Actually investing in an attraction in a park that has become such a misguided corpse of its former self is not so cheap. In other words it’s never going to happen.

I've always wanted the ORIGINAL Journey Into Imagination to come back to EPCOT. It hurt my gut more knowing that Dreamfinder was removed and the ride itself disappeared. As someone who has never been to EPCOT nor had the chance to experience the original attraction, but I still hope to one day, we get to see that miracle. Great work on this video!

There's more. The TV also shows animations from the Science scene from JII. The bird in a cage in the Sight Lab was from JIYI. The video screens with Dr Channing at the beginning and the "blast" at the end of the ride functioned as the brain scanners from the end of JIYI. The Figment AA's we see until the final scene were actually all used in the original attraction, not just the Space themed one. These guys were reprogrammed for budget reasons.

There is a Figment animatronic inside Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout queue. He’s kinda hard to find but he’s there looking from above inside a display case.

🎵We all have sparks, imagination, that's how our minds create creation. Right at the start of everything that's new, one little spark lights up for you.🎵 I hope Disney brings back this version. That would truly make me want to go to Epcot. Fm7, you knock it out of the park everytime. I would love a video about Mine Train.

iirc, the mural at the bottom of the escalator to imageworks was installed after it had closed, and was put there as a joke by a group of CMs. it even says "merchandise your imagination"

I really wish that I could go to an alternate timeline where the original version of Journey to Imagination attraction was never torn down from EPCOT. It absolutely would have been my favorite attraction, had it survived into the 21st century, and also would have absolutely still been considered an irreplaceable classic (much like Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and Spaceship Earth) by today's standards. I never understood why Michael Eisner greenlit Journey Into Your Imagination as a replacement. I just wish Disney would pull an Enchanted Tiki Room and restore the original attraction to its former glory, adding some new effects in addition to keeping all the old animatronics and physical set pieces intact. Wouldn't it be cool if the Dreamport section had more amazing illusions with some projection mapping effects and whatnot? Plus, I prefer Billy Barty's final rendition of "One Little Spark" at the end of the attraction as opposed to Dave Goelz's rendition. In summary, I want to go on adventure through the decadent and intricate dimensions of imagination, not experience a Looney Tunes cartoon in dark ride form.

I have to think Disney lost far far more money by destroying the original than they saved.

Question 🙋♀️ how many years it took to build Disney’s California Adventure since construction 🚧 of the park began in January of 1998 and was completed ✔️ in early 2001, so was it 2 and a half years to build?

So it is a real shame that disney a MEGA corporation that has untold amounts of money will dump their best and brightest attractions over seas, because they don't have to pay for them. But if they can't find a sponsor for a ride they decide that is more cost efficient to make a cheaper version of a ride. Good thing they lower costs at the gate to account for all the short..wait I'm being informed they DON'T DO THAT? If I were giving disney a grade here I'd give them an D+ for still having a ride but doing nothing with it when they KNOW they would sell tickets and bring more people by putting more money into their rides.
