Jaal kinda reminds me of Javik from the DLC Of ME3. yet holds some of the great things that Garrus had, while still making him different and unique, along with a fresh and new perspective. Javik was the greatest follower i could have ever asked for. "The frog people evolved?" "I believe they're amphibian." *short pause* "They used to eat flies."

We weren't the first humans they met (see Kadara.) With that said, it was still pretty jarring that there wasn't any kind of explanation, not even a "uplink completed, Pathfinder" or "We've calibrated our translators to match your kind that we met on Kadara" etc.

Sooooo I hope someone knows the answer : Milky Way has mass relays. So what were they thinking when going to the Andromeda? There are no mass relays

They were thinking that they had a population that would take YEARS to begin overpopulating a single planet, even if every species they sent colonized the same one. They still have FTL, just not the "Across the Galaxy in Minutes" of Mass Relay. It's more "A few weeks to the next cluster of stars". The plan is to creep along, bit by bit, until they figure out a way (probably hundreds of thousands of years from now) how to recreate the Relays. It's sustainable, and since the Relays ever even EXISTED, possible.

For some reason, this just doesn't feel like a Mass Effect game to me. Like being in a different galaxy means it's a different thing altogether. The original trilogy cemented what Mass Effect is, and... I don't know. I guess _literal space travel_ isn't something I ever gave much thought to. Despite the fact that it is a huge aspect of the series.
