Question I’m having trouble with some problems when they mention a bolus. Is that the same thing as saying infusion or iv push? Meaning would i be using the same formula
@passwithpass6 ай бұрын
Hello! IV push is generally referring to pushing a syringe of medication into the IV line/angiocatheter. A "bolus" is often interchangeable with IV push but may referring to a medication or a volume of fluid (250mL bolus, etc.). An infusion refers to a volume of fluid (or medication) over a certain amount of time (150mg of Amiodarone over 10 minutes).

A bolus is usually reffered to a set amount of fluid that is to be administered either slow or just pushed threw the IV. If there are any sets of time in the equation then it becomes an infusion! Hope that helps, or if anyone else has a better way to explain it plz do!

#2 was so confusing as you did not teach how you got the concentration

Hello! We're sorry there was some confusion with the second problem of the medication math problem. We laid out the concentration under the "Finding your concentration" section on the slide and also speak to converting milligrams to micrograms.
