When I do mine, I cover the brake rotors and calipers. One year I didn't and got overspray on my rotating brake parts. My truck didnt stop to well after, and the FF got imbedded into the pads. I had to change out the pads, scuff and squirt down the rotors with brake cleaner. Now I apply the FF with a brush to the rotor backing plates after I spray the chassis and remove the garbage bags on all 4 corners!

Great! Two things I really like about FF is that it slowly creeps into places you might oversee, and that it softens/rejuvinate other/older undercoatings and making those either "new again" or easier to remove to reveal the rust beneath.

Greetings from northern Vermont, salt capital of the world!! Bar and Chain oil is the product of choice up here. A gallon of "Black Max" oil can be purchased from Walmart about $10.00 delivered!! That looks real good I heard you drive on a dusty or dirt road so it sticks and makes a coating
@streetbikebilly25973 жыл бұрын
I recommend applying this in the fall. That way the oil will get covered with dirt and sand, possibly drive down some dusty sandy roads that way it's not fresh when it hits the salt as it will already be tarred and feathered so to say. If you really want to make it last forever drive up and down a milling job when they grind up the road a couple times. That stuffs dusty and it sticks to anything and loves gathering up under cars and radiators and stuff.
@QuickSpeedShop3 жыл бұрын
That's when I apply, in September and October. I also tell people to drive on dusty roads and avoid heavy bottom blasting car washes in the winter.

I was thinking about that, but people say it's absolutely impossible to remove should you ever need to take it off. I don't think this would be the best thing. The FF never dries. You would be getting it on you whenever you touched it. Also since it's a lanolin wax your caulk won't stick to it. Your best bet is to get the rust off and paint with some kind of moisture curing urethane paint.
