It’s gonna be an interesting one today. Temperature is summery, humidity oceany and my paints are runny.
I mixed my paints a little differently than usual and i hope itll work!

📌 My POURING MEDIUM
Behr Dynasty deep base semi-gloss and minwax polycrylic (roughly 3:1) from Home depot
And thinning to the right consistency with JoSonja gloss varnish (Dick blick, jerrys artsarama or Fluidart.co)

📌 The magic juice/Cell activator is mixed with australian floetrol. (1:1)

Adding liquitex gloss gel worked for me. Very well

I use Dynasty, and I had to strat using triple thick Valspar varnish, and it has been good so far.

Hi There is a fairly cheap product available at Walmart, Home Depot and etc. that extracts and collect the moisture out of the air It’s called DAMP RID. You hang it in the area you want to remove moisture and it collects the water/moisture in its bag Costs about $12 for a 3 pack Of sure how quickly it would solve your problem but it could be a preventative measure for you in the long term

I was told if my ultra deep base is on the thin side, use gloss gel. It's beautiful. 😍

Oh Jessica that is stunning painting!!! ❤❤❤ definitely try the gel gloss to thicken… I have even used Liquitex heavy gel gloss… Works great!

Darn! I missed the live😢 I usually just watch while I'm doing other things but I was scrubbing grout😬 I have to say, I don't think it's just weather even though humidity does factor in I'm certain. I live in Las Vegas, it's unusually hot for June and our humidity runs around 5%. I can get anything to work for blooms. I'm using 3300 and only adding a tiny amount of varnish. After they discontinued 8300 I tried 2-8300, it was awful. And the new behr gloss is even worse. I don't know but I think I'm done blooming until we figure this out

But it WAS informative! Now I know if I let the humidity get out of control, I might get into trouble. I live on the east coast in Canada, 2 km from the sea, and that means fog! I haven’t noticed my paints thinning, but it is taking much longer for my paintings to dry. By the way, dehumidifiers do work… they’re just a pain in the bum to keep emptying if you can’t have them empty directly into a drain. I hope the paint-consistency gods smile down upon you soon!😊🤞

Also wanted to add, I mix the gloss gel in a small qty. first then add to pillow or pm as it is a b**** to get fully incorporated otherwise.

Dang it I missed you live but I just finished watching this very interesting show Even with the thin paint it turned out really pretty and colorful which I really love Wonder if that paint sat outside in the heat at store and that would thin it down

Having the same problem, would adding a thick gel gloss medium help to thicken? I am in California not to far from you. I have used the golden thick gel gloss medium in pillow paints, including black top pillow and it helps but in pouring medium I haven't tried adding the gloss medium. You are right, the paints are coming to thin from the store.

Would it help to pour in separate containers and decant for a couple days, or would heat and humidity still defeat it? Same problems here in Indy in my garage
