Hearing about toes over knees and even having toes down a bit on tight berms has done more to improve my cornering in the space of 20 minutes than any lesson I’ve had in the last 5 years! The bike was always getting away from me and I couldn’t work out why. Now I know! Thanks so much!

Great video! Or should I say series of videos? Anyway, I've seen people saying that we should shift our weight to the rear axle (at least momentarily when we are right at the top of a downslope) when pumping down a trail. Is this true? Do we then shift our weight back to the centre of the bike after this momentary shift to the back in order for us to transfer maximum weight and pressure into the rear wheel to gain speed?

Is it the steepness of the berm that means you don't need footwork? Or is it something else? Feel like I just got that part dialed but now it's not used. When do you use the footwork versus not?
@Fluidride3 жыл бұрын
Basically when the rider is fully perpendicular to the berm no footwork is needed. In the first turn they work on, notice that Linnea uses footwork to access the berm at the beginning where it isn't steep, then moves to double foot pressure as it gets steeper and more supportive. This is really a dynamic interplay. Keep in mind that Linnea has had a lot of coaching. With most riders, I'd just ask them to have some footwork because being this dynamic within a given turn with changing camber takes a lot of practice. I hope this helps! -Simon
