Hi, i just tear down my fluke 175, but i found it doesn't have backlight led on the board, do you know the spec of those 2 Leds? Thank you so much.

Note all units can do it, it depends on if the backlight was actually installed in it, I’ve heard from some people that theirs did not have the backlight LED installed.

Great video! I took my 175 apart, the mold date is 10/2020 and printed on the board is “Fluke 17X-3021 Rev 004” as well as a sticker with “FK179/177-4021”. Looks like it was too costly to make a specific board for the cheap model. I wonder if this has temperature probe functionality hidden too! Does anybody know where to get a film to increase the light spread from the 2 LEDs?

nice. i took apart my meter to change out the screen and saw the extra button slot. i'm gonna try that out

Decades ago I discovered my VHS remote had a similar hidden button. I added my own button to find it was a single frame advance.

i expect that if there is a demand for the F175 and they are short of a few boards they might pull a few 177 boards to make up the order.

I have had comments that not all units have the backlit LCD installed, some do, some don't, it looks like yours does not have the LED fitted.

Thanks for the update, I’ll see about getting a led , I work in car footwells and the back light would be a great feature. Have you got a picture of the PCB output for be led location?

Buenas noches.. Al parecer, ese 175 vino con los leds colocados y su sitema, solo omitiendo el boton y el difusor de luz oara que ilumine la pantalla completa. A mi viejo fluke110 version antigua yo tambien habilité la luz, colocando el boton, transistor npn, dos resistencias, leds y difusor de luz. Quedó como el 112 que si trae luz, pero color verde, el mio quedó con luz blanca. Supongo que los 175 que tienen los componentes, pueden hacer lo mismo que yo, el circuito ya está impreso de fabrica, solo faltan los componentes. Pasa que son las misma placas del 175, 177 y 179, solo que al faltar componentes no realizan la funcion como el mas completo. Saludos..

It baffles me why fluke would delete that button. I mean it's probably more expensive to not have the button (they had to adapt the mould).

Thank you very much for the information. I opened mine to check if the Backlight was installed, unfortunately not. I bought mine in 2017 and it could be by then it was not possible. Anyway, I would like to say thank you once again. for taking you time for me.. Friendly greetings

So were did you get the button. I have just received a snd hand 175 with worn buttons. I just can not find the replacement on the internet
