having ponds even small ones teaches more than a little class section in education.. flukes huge topic and with flooding areas , well water quality is a skill both for fresh water fish and humans. salt water fish oceans bit more to learn from.. and a pond does not have to be neglected to have flukes ! it is a natural process that indicated problems ~ and diligent observation. thank you for posting..

@CoralMan243 жыл бұрын
great work in my experience a nice letter reaching out to the people watching the house would most likely allow you to re-home the fish and take the stress off them since it isn't there thing.

This video really shows that a fish pond is a real commitment . It requires constant maintenance and can be an expense . There are Koi rescue groups that will help with relocating . It appears that the fish have been reproducing and are in general good condition . The owner actually had a very nice set up ,but it got to much for him to keep up . This video also demonstrates how to maintain a fish pond very nicely . Thank you for great video

I've had a a small pond since 2010. Half the fun is trying to figure out how to fix problems. I got round the ammonia problems by routing the outflow from the filtration system through a bed of marginal plants. Native Iris are easy and very efficient. The set up in the video would easilly convert to that system. But I realise that this is not your pond and your care may only be on a temporary basis.

I was going to say the same thing. Why not call the RSPCA to rehome the fish. I don't know anything about koi, but I have a feeling that they are bored out of their minds in that little pond. It looks too small for all of them. Please call the animal rescue, don't let them live like that any longer.

What actually are Flukes? I'm guessing some kind of tick-like thing that pond fish suffer from? Edit: Aww, well I hope the fish are alright, being bitten by those things obviously can't be any fun.
@jeanlylabrador-doctor93413 жыл бұрын
There are also other flukes that can affect humans when ingested contaminated food or water. Also praziquantel was the best treatment for these type of parasite as far as I remember on our parasitology class
@themanfromvolantis2 жыл бұрын
You can only see fish flukes with a microscope. There are other types of flukes that you CAN see with the human eye. An example being Andreas Brehme's goal for West Germany against England in 1990 World Cup Semi Final.

It’s good that.you are able to help out fella and as said I nice little mini series too boot. Now the weather has improved so as a fluke problem, I test waters each week and all the parameters are well within but I have had a blanket weed issue from the tap water being 2 mg/l of phosphate, this has led me to dose resolve twice to start to lower my phosphate level and now have flukes 🙃 so in answer to your question I am on second dose of flukasol and like you have observed the fish initially start to liven up. Great job Adam BR Phil

Great job, I have to ask though, with tanks that big do you need to use dechlorinator still? Or does the small input of water let it "age" or not make enough of an impact on the fish/bacteria. I ask as someone who has only ever had 200L or so tanks.
