Merry Christmas 🎄. What a Christmas feast for koi! Why do some of the koi have red areas or wounds? Do you treat the red areas or just let them be?

You should sell the waist water in 5 liter containers for £25 as Expert fertiliser to these cannabis grow shops around the country 😀 and for Bonsai people like myself but got a family koi pond too

These are amazing i have one and if you back feed into the grid, all you have to do is have 2 male plugs on one lead and you dont even need the ATS!!! If you backfeed the transformer on the street these can put out 11000v
@823peterdotieАй бұрын
Very nicely done. Neat job will definitely extend the genie lifespan. Would you mind to share the details or link for the ATS which you've got? Thanks.

Adam please do an update when the weather drops to freezing. I'd like to see if this unit freezes like the old Crystal heat pump. Thanks
@peterfinkill8098Ай бұрын
Nice video Adam. You need one of those small pan nets that the Japenese breeders use when they are sorting their fish. That would make it much easier when you are doing a sort.

Quite the piece of kit. Unfortunately use of heat pumps in Canada is still extremely limited due to their inability to work efficiently in extremely cold weather (-10C to -40C) during the winter months. Hopefully one day they'll come up with one for a reasonable price that can function effectively during our winters.🥶
@AdamJulyanАй бұрын
Yes they are a bit limiting in weather below -5DegC this one says it works down to -15DegC but in my experience they struggle at less than -5. Do you have any heating on your koi pond? we have a lot of trouble with temperature fluctuations suck as last week went from -3 at night to 13Deg during day which is not ideal for koi in ponds.
@mykoiobsessionАй бұрын
@@AdamJulyan I'm fortunate in that I have a 2000 gal US pond in my basement where I overwinter my koi. (The summer they spend outdoors in my 5000 gal US pond.) I don't know of anyone in Canada who heats their pond. Most people use a pond deicer/small floating heater to keep a small opening in the ice throughout the winter to allow for gas exchange. The fish go dormant from late November to late May/early June in most cases. Some people do build a poly tunnel over the pond for the winter and that does help delay the dormancy period by a few weeks and end it earlier in the spring.
@TrinitybluetwoАй бұрын
How.much is the new heater?

About £1800

I just swapped my pump to the Ramera i9 a few days ago. It took 1-2 days to slowly bring up the temp and then held it without difficulty. Like yourself, I’m well pleased with mine.
@FreeOnGoalАй бұрын
The bricks absorb a lot heat because of their large heat capacity
@BigRobukАй бұрын
what does something like that cost to buy and run ?
@hankbruinsma9716Ай бұрын
I paid 1720 for mine at koi-zone. Depending on the ambient temp, it cost about 2/day to heat my uncovered pond.
@IcenI_KoiАй бұрын
That was quick, Adam. Something normally screws up when I do a job like this !!! Who does read the instructions any way lol. Looks like a nice little ASHP. Can't wait to see the complete pond refurb in June. Refurbing my pond in July time, so that will be interesting to see. Have a great week my friend 👍
@AdamJulyanАй бұрын
Tell me about it i haven't had a job go that easy in ages. yeah it'll be spot on that pond when its fiberglass it'll also simplify the pipework a bit. hope you have a good week too thanks.

I'd love to put a heat pump on my conservatory. How hard is it to do.
@AdamJulyanАй бұрын
Yeah it's totally worth it, It was my first heat pump id say about 15 years ago and its the reason i got one for my fish house and the main house. Best to find a AC company to install it that does heating and cooling and they aren't that expensive usually a similar price or cheaper than a log burner which is why i have no idea why people buy log burners.
@paulharris5022Ай бұрын
Thanks for your reply I'm going to look into this. Atb Paul

I've bought a temporary 3kw petrol generator to use in rural Romania for like 200 quid - that runs quieter than that "Silenced" Hyundai Had it running for 12 hours straight today but looking to buy a ~8kw generator with ATS, definitely not going to be this one!
