@@vivid23d53 so what I’ve been able to find out so far is the area of Maryland contains more marine fossils then particular minerals for rock hounds. The best location to hunt for fossils is about 1.5-2hours south of Baltimore called Matoaka Beach Cottages. It’s privately owned but they do charge a small day pass for people wanting to park and go to the beach. The age of the Marine fossils and fossilized shark teach are from the Miocene Age which are between 20.03-5.333 million years old. The coordinates for that location is (38.4708, -76.4804). The second place just south of that location is called the Calvert Cliffs also on a beach for Marine Fossils. There are a few campgrounds in the area for parking day pass. I will keep doing some digging to see what else I can find for you. Hope your having a great day 😊🤙

Cool story for you. I am related to Nancy Hanks! Nancy Hanks is Abraham Lincoln's mother. She died when he was eight years old from drinking milk that was poisoned from the cows eating a toxic plant. Abraham's cousin Robert Hanks was the only extended family member to attend his funeral. Anyways, thank you for subscribing to my channel! Happy hunting 👍

Hey bro, thanks for checking out my content. Welcome to the community. If you haven’t checked the Grand Junction Gem & Mineral club I highly recommend it. They have lots of useful equipment to use and great for information. You may also want to check out the RockHound Podcast channel here on KZbin.

Forgot to answer the other question. So at Nancy Hanks Gulch where you dig is in a creek bed. Everything that is found there has been washed down stream when the creek is flowing. The source is from the mine shaft and dump piles that are all on Private land. If you plan on going to that location shoot me a email at rock_hounding_adventures@yahoo.com and I’ll send you a map of generally where the private property is and where to go and where not to go. When digging in the creek I generally look for a bunch of tiny fluorite or amethyst crystals and that helps me determine where I should dig. If your not finding any of that don’t bother on digging. I hope this helps bro

@RockHoundingAdventures4 жыл бұрын
The larger chucks are pretty solid. The smaller ones can be a little bridle. Depending on how long all the snow sticks around here from last night I may try to find some more large chunks. They polish up really nice.
