I have discovered something VERY critical about running these on a water hose. Basically, that water hose connection is used to FLUSH the system..it is NOT intended to run the motor for but just a brief period. Doing so can cause HOT spots in the head around the cylinders and you can destroy an engine. When you run a water hose via that connector, you're basically going backwards with the water flow. Normally (while ski is in water), water flows in through where the jet pump is. I recently rebuilt one of these motors and the number 1 cylinder and piston were destroyed and we believe it was because of running on water hose for too long

Really? I knew it was the flush port but they also say to run it when using it. I think the key here is too long. Thanks for the great info.

When I run the Ski should water be coming out of the Bypass outlet? And if not should I flush it?
@SeidelRanch Жыл бұрын
When you are running it in a body of water you should have water coming out of the side bypass. If not you can try to flush it but also check the pump. That is there to let you know it's working.

Random question, I own the exact same model, but can’t seem to find an adapter to connect my garden hose securely. Would it be bad to just set a basic funnel in the flush intake and turn the hose on? Thanks!
@SeidelRanch3 жыл бұрын
You will need something that can take the pressure from the garden hose. The water needs to be pushed into the adapter. I would get a cheap hose and cut it to fit over the opening.

I just bought a 97' 750 and the owner had never heard of flushing. What type of damage am I going to come across, if any? Thank you for your video!
@SeidelRanch2 жыл бұрын
A lot of it is based on where it has been. If it's been in salt water at all, flushing is very important. The salt water can eat away and corrode the cooling system. If you are in an area that gets very cold, there could be stress from the water freezing if not drained. If it's been only in fresh water and kept out of the cold, it could be just fine.
@IzzySk102 жыл бұрын
What happens is your engine will lock up because water gets into the cylinders and it can’t compress the water so it locks up. Cranking on it can cause further damage. You have to pull spark plugs and crank it and hope it’ll fire after you put them back in
@SeidelRanch2 жыл бұрын
Are you saying you will water lock the engine if you flush it?

What is the black knob for that is udder the place where you hook the garden hose to. Thanks for your help

Found this online because I have never touched that. "Looks like the crankcase drain plug! Most people remove them and get a crankcase block-off installed. Its real easy. If the plug goes bad it can suck water into the crankcase! They stopped installing them on the SXR." Hope that helps.

If you were going to winterize, would you pump antifreeze through this same inlet?
@SeidelRanch3 жыл бұрын
All I do to winterize mine is run the water out of it. But, if you are in a very cold climate then yes, you can run an antifreeze mixture through the water port to help keep any residual water from freezing in it.
@Hey-vk7em2 жыл бұрын
I live in northern ks and I flush it like this fella. Then run rv antifreeze down a funnel connected to garden hose while the ski is running until the antifreeze comes out the exhaust.

The black button thats below the water inlet . What is it for .
@SeidelRanch3 жыл бұрын
That is a pull knob to drain the engine of water if they jet ski gets submerged and water gets in the engine. Here is a link to the owners manual if you want to know more: www.kawasaki-onlinetechinfo.net/dispeBook?file=99920-1799-02&mark=JH750C3&manual_kind=OM&model_year=1997&lang_code=EN

Can u run a JetSki with the water hose for 10minutes or is that to long?
@SeidelRanch4 жыл бұрын
I have run them for probably 30 minutes or more with no issue. Since the water is just for cooling, time should not be much of an issue.

@michaelcudby787 Жыл бұрын
The problem with running the engine for long periods, ie, longer than 5 minutes ,is there is no water g0ing through the wear ring, which will ruin it in a short period.When using the ski on water, there is water going through the wear ring, which cools it & stops it wearing out, prematurely.Ever tried to renew a wear ring?Not a job for the faint hearted!@@wtfman1217

Can’t even get the model number right on this JetSki and your video is way too long.. just get to the point buddy seriously I don’t think you know a whole lot about jet skis so you might want to shorten your video in a good mood until I watched this video😂 I’m just annoyed. Edit & shorten this video. Get rid of 75% of the worthless info nobody cares about. Over 6 minutes,when it should have been direct to the point in a min or less..
