G'day guys, today we are reacting to Fleetwood Mac with The Chain live in 1982. Fleetwood Mac have some great hits and their music is fantastic. In this song you could feel the tension between Lindsey and Stevie.

Have to agree Lyndsey Buckingham one of the most underrated lead guitarists ever!

Saw this tour, and the Rumours one also. Stevie and Lindsey were always on spotlight with their drama. Most fans knew the soap opera and half-expected it to reveal itself.

I really loved Fleetwood Mac when I was young. Also, Christine McVie did a solo album at one point. She has a beautiful voice and I think was not given the credit she deserved as part of Fleetwood Mac. Anyway, thanks for the reaction.

Damn. Even I haven't seen this clip. What a sweet find. The anger and passion is fucking palpable. While I have heard better versions of "The Chain", this one is soaking wet with emotion. THANK YOU, and the guy who sent you this link. Keep diving into these gems. Until next time, keep safe, and keep on keeping on.

I saw Fleetwood Mac 4x over the years in their various incarnations. THIS lineup was by far their most energetic on stage and their concerts were fun. HOWEVER... that being said... nothing can compare to their studio albums which were meticulously crafted by genius.

I always love how they're trying to drop a spotlight on John during his bass solo and he keeps stepping back out of the light. So very typical of John McVie.

🌹Thanks for posting this video. I had met seen this one and MAN! It felt like Stevie and Buckingham - actually the whole band had just had a huge fight and we're throwing daggers. So glad the band played together again later when the anger was spent. In the live version of Landslide they are actually smiling at each other. Fyi, if you don't know, Stevie just dropped a new video in Oct. She's 70 'something' and still has it. It's called Show Them The Way and I'm able to watch it on KZbin here in the States. It's as pertinent today as it was 60 years ago - at least for this Yankee. Of course with our mystical Stevie the story and words came to her in one of her crystal vision dreams. Peace.

I am a huge fan of Fleetwood Mac. I remember when buying cd’s of their greatest hits. I am sure I bought at least 4 copies of it. They always seemed to “disappear.” Lol Never requested any Fleetwood Mac bc they always seem to get blocked. Fingers crossed.

Enjoyed watching w you! I discovered this video a couple years ago and was blown away. The chemistry, real or exaggerated, between Lindsey and Stevie is electrifying. Shooting daggers w looks and screaming the lyrics. Omg. I’ve never been able to go back to the album version. Oh, and for another incredible performance by Lindsey from same concert, check out “I’m So Afraid” also from 1982 Mirage tour. So emotional and a stunning guitar solo. There are many other live performances, but that’s the best IMO.

I also want to point out at this time in their career they were so at odds that they just kept trying to over-talk, over-perform, basically it was so tense they were took out their frustrations by upstaging them and it got bad. This song was written from a place of tension from the sour relationships and cheating with each other and it just got worse. By this year they basically hated each other and were performing together out of necessity or habit.

I remember watching this show the very first time it aired on, I think HBO and many more times after. The whole show is great. But the coke was working hard on Lindsey, Mick and Stevie especially. Lindsey going off and Stevie speaking in tongues. Absolute Fleetwood Mac classic.

In fact this song is not only about Stevie and Lindsey, is about the five members of the band. The song talks about the toxic relationships that plagued the band for years, and that despite not loving each other the same, the chain (which is the music) is what holds them together. Some parts of the lyrics are parts of Stevie and Lindsey songs, and John McVie's bass solo is part of a song he and Christine composed. This is the only song in which the five appear as authors of the lyrics.

I think think the interaction between Stevie and Lindsay is even weirder when they reunited in 1997... Stevie just stares a hole into the side of his head, and he refuses to look at her. Much better sound quality on this version too: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXO8eap-ZruVY8U
