Excellent video. Thank you. Mine didn't prime itself when I switched the power on so I did it the old fashioned way - quick suck on the outlet.

I heard on another set up video you’re supposed to put 1.4 gallons in the filter before turning it on? Might make it easier on the pump to get going

I did everything in the video and my filter isn’t doing anything 😢

Will the setup process still work if we do add water into the until manually, before we turn it on?

Great video. I just got the fx2. I have not set it up yet. It will replace my 407 on my Shaker 66g. I like using purigen. Would you put it in the bottom tray under the black sponge, or just remove the black sponge ? Thank you!

This is just my opinion and 30 years of reef/saltwater keeping, canister filters are fine for freshwater use but for saltwater / reef a sump is far more efficient. With a sump you could keep a refugium, apex controller, heater, protein skimmer, dosing pumps, heaters, live rock, water level sensors, flexible return pump, water top off unit and the list could go on. Ghost overflow with bean-animal plumbing into a sump is most idea configuration. The shaker stand and tank are great for fresh but not ideal for salt. This is just my opinion and yes, I just bought a shaker 66-gallon setup for a planted tank that will have CO2. The 407 is too tall imo to have inline uv and co2 adapter. Which I am looking for a solution. I really do not like the ribbed tubing that Fluval uses since that can hold detritus. So far, I cannot find the FX2 yet in the US. Edit: Since the new Shaker 66-gallon tank is not setup yet I may not use the drilled in option.

Is this fx2 canister filter too powerful for a 35g fish tank I've got two fantail goldfish in there and my 307 isn't keeping it clean

Should be good

Can you add a spray bar to the fx2 or not

Are all the fittings/accessories & tubing the same size as FX4/FX6? Or is the tubing smaller like the 407?
@EverydayAquarist2 жыл бұрын
Same as other FX filters
