We escape the east coast hurricane and end up at Paynes Prairie State Park. We do a tour of the camping area and go out onto the prairie in search of the elusive wild horses and american bison. We find them out in the middle by going out on the Bolen Bluff Trail. The La Chua Trail on the North side was closed due to not enough social distance needed for the alligators & buffalo. Since La Chua Trail was closed, we did a side trip to the Island Grove Winery Tasting Room.

So lucky to see the bison! We were there a few months ago and only saw the horses. We subscribed to your channel since you go to a lot of the same places we go to.

Thanks, we now started buying their wine at Publix. We don’t usually drink that much wine, but the Sangria and Blueberry Moscato are so refreshing

Thank you! I will also check out your videos. I am currently working on a Hart Springs video, which is a County Park that you can now reserve on Reserve America.

I got Lyme disease there. I had two tick bites that turned into big round red whelps. There is no cure. We never got to see the Bison or horses, except what looked like blotches in the distance. We were there 3 days and 2 nights. The tent camping was too close for comfort, really cramped.

Sorry you got the Lyme disease, we stop there all the time for one night stays when heading North. It is just far enough away to stop there right before dark. We have never gotten any ticks there, but I can see how it can happen being so heavily wooded and all deer, horses and bison. Thanks for watching.

Zachary Abbott Thank you, Publix sells the wine from the winery. The owner is a neat guy and they have a glass bottom Carolina Skiff that they take lobstering and scalloping. He just started a KZbin channel to sell lobster nets that he is getting a patent on.

@@FLWeekendWarriors have you ever been to Fort Clinch state park? Also another good place is gilchrist blue springs state park

@@Aaron-nk5vv we have gone to the Fort, but we did not camp there. The springs are on our list of places to camp. It’s just always booked. I just need to put it on my calendar so I book it as soon as you are allowed. We are going to the new Moonshine RV resort for Labor Day. I have not been on the Ichetucknee River in a long time.

who put those bison there is my question.
@FLWeekendWarriors

The bison were put there by the Florida Park Service in 1975. The prairie used to be a lake and drained into the Alachua sink in 1891. Go out on the boardwalk and you can still see the water draining into the ground.
