I still say Flxible had the most beautiful buses made. The rear window shape, the non round headlight openings, the rear Art Deco fin treatment, the stunning stainless, all make it a cut above. The VL-100 has to be the most gorgeous bus ever made! Oh and don’t forget the ride, the torsalastic is like floating on a cloud! 😍

That is one cool bus coming in. I love the sound of those buses when they put there foot onto the gas. I really miss the sound and sight of the grey hound buses. Grey Hound pulled out of Canada a few years ago. I have spent the last 50 years watching them cruise up and down the highways in Saskatchewan Canada. It is a shame they could not make a go of it in Canada anymore.

In the mid to late 90's, when Flxible was on its last legs, I went to graduate school in Delaware, Ohio, where they manufactured the buses. It was fun to see them take the brand new buses on the test drive before delivery. They had a specified route. Watch out for that brand new bus!

I saw that roll of duck tape "cup holder" right off! That was a old trick I used in the cab over days, a roll of duck tape on the engine hump, up next to the dash! I love his marble/granite dash! That 6V-92 is a rocket in that bus! When I first saw that suspension, I was like, WTH???? Great job on fixing this one Scott and Tyler! Also great camera work!

The good old flexible bus. Then it was call the DINA OLÍMPICO. I had the pleasure to drive them, service them, repair them just like you guys did back in the early 90s. I learn a lot to work on buses cause I own one s 1948 GMC motorhome. This was on the early 80s, I work on them when I started to operate the caterpillars 941/951/977/D8. Working on diesel fuel engines is and was so much fun to me. @58 memories are the only way to remember those wonderful years.

This Flexible a good package. Top end ideal not holding any body back. This unit scoots. As for front end wear change type of grease and more frequently lubed. Love how the Jake is adjusted, takes the panic out of long down hill passes. Good Job Scott 👍

@@jeffcooper5789 Hi Jeff. Yes you can get extended service life from your Bus. By changing to a Molly based grease, bushings in Backhoe Bucket lasted ten years. Before they had to be changed in three years.a Clue to help you find this use the phrase Molly Be Damn and look for boat axle grease you will do well. Do you service the bus by road miles or engine hours? As a fleet ours was 150 engine hours. Scott has you on the Road for many years to come. Good Job, 👍

Hello my name is Jeremy Gramlin I live in lexington Kentucky but was raised in Washington County Indiana.I have had two life long fascinations and they were semi trucks and more importantly buses. My grandfather worked at the Ford semi truck plant in Louisville Kentucky until Ford stopped producing big trucks at which time he chose to retire. The man was the epitome of a workaholic,he ran a successful cattle farm on top of his time at ford which he retired as head of maintenance. So needless to say, I think diesel runs in our veins.I drove a truck for seventeen years when life threw a curve ball and I was diagnosed with a condition that has given me a life expectancy of 5-10 years and I'm 41. Two years have passed since that diagnosis and my partner and I have become RVers, Its a 36ft Holiday Rambler Endeavor, but like everyone else we want a coach., the fact is buses are made for highway use and motorhomes are for leisure. one thing I know is you wont be seeing any 50 year old Winnebagos or Holiday Ramblersdriving down the highway fifty years from now. I've passed on opportunities to purchase a bus at a good price, simply because I dont know much about the engine set up. My dad was a drag racer and I can tear down a 440 mopar to the block, fix any problems and have it running in about 90 minutes;assuming there are air tools available. As crazy as it sounds my years driving trucks i really didnt learn much about diesel engines. If i had a breakdown they would either send a mechanic or another truckand off I go.Im so grateful to have come across your page, theres already so much that Ive learned from your videos. Its a great thing that you are doing here, there are alot of free spirits out there with no one to turn to for advice, and you are filling a void that was needed. Like you, that pur of a detroit diesel engine has captivated me my whole life. When i was a little boy my grandfather had an old greyhound bus that he had cut most of the top off of it so he could haul his tractor or bulldozer to was here ever he needed and that sound and rumble I will never forget. I think with the help from your videosand im sure at times maybe getting the bus to you I might be able to do this even if i have tjust o enlist your help at times if possible. I just dont know how long it will take on a limited budget. Inspite of my diagnosis, Im still mobile and capable, I just need advice from some one whos done this and if i have time to finish it and enjoy it. Any advice would be helpful

Hi there! Thank you for posting the video. It rekindled my interest in purchasing a Flxliner once again, I was looking in to buying a Dina from Mexico but the cost to imported and the mess is not worth it at this time although the 8-10 speed manual with retardant sounds good. Well if you dear folks happen to know one for sale , I would appreciate it greatly if would let me know Excellent video! Please keep posting more videos of the flxliner. I love the sound of that diesel engine grrrrrrrrr

@ 14:43 while you guys were fighting and lining up that wheel hub I wondered why there is no fastener plate to mount to the wheel studs and a bracket to fasten to a floor jack to do the line up and lifting with . Then no fear of the hub slipping off the little pad the floor jack provides . Would work for removal also. Less aches and pains .

Makes one wish that manufactures' would think about how it might be a better idea to build their buses by being able to just lift the 'house' off the entire frame, leaving all running gear attached and serviceable much as a long framed truck where removing the cab exposes the entire powertrain and wheel assemblies. No reason it can't be plug and play.
