Wow, cinematography, production value and content all top notch man. Gorgeous photos of the night sky too. Love it! I would kill to be able to fly somewhere that beautiful! As for water landings, why not have flotation?
@ryansouthwell2 жыл бұрын
Thanks!! It's ok to have them (PFD) but not to rely on them. I've seen many not inflate, or at least inflate in a way that inhibits you from escaping. Best policy is know your way out without a panic. Anything else you got is a bonus.

So awesome! loved the bird you caught on camera out flying with you. Was hoping for a little footloose montage after you channeled Kevin Bacon in your sexy movie trailer voice. Was the thing on your head part of the follow cam? The injured, helicopter footage got my interest real fast.
@ryansouthwell4 жыл бұрын
Thanks. That was a bald eagle I believe and he never knew it was following him. I'm glad someone got the Footloose reference. I guess that's my idea of funny. That thing on my head is my follow cam. Made by PPG Smoke. So on the last day, my friend stepped in a hole while running on his takeoff and broke his femur. We felt bad for him but he's a stud and pulls through it like a champ

He used a Mavic Mini for just a couple of those shots at the fly-camp site. Otherwise, all other aerial shots he does from his paramotor with a sick custom setup.

Fly camping and flying over water in a scout seems risky. Be a lot safer in a Flat Top, frame wont explode and u wont be drowndeded
@ryansouthwell2 жыл бұрын
Never had a problem. Seems like that carbon fiber would float a lot better than aluminum. But regardless, if you hit the water and don't know how to manage yourself, then you lose. That's why we practice.
@fubar4fpv2 жыл бұрын
@@ryansouthwell Actually the Flat Top has some welded sealed tubes full of air but I was referring to the quick release harness. One could be out of FT in a fraction of a second. Moving water is even more critical and would be best to jump right before hitting the water to avoid getting wrapped or tangled in your lines and wing....Nice channel, photography and editing btw👍
