@@dwightyoder4883 im currently up in the UP near Iron River now trying to practice and find some more widespread beginner friendly streams to fish. Can I ask where you were fishing? Paint river perhaps?

@@Gloch9 you should stop in at Dark Waters Fly Shop in Iron River and talk with Seth. He can give you the lowdown on river conditions. You're definitely in a target rich environment. First place to go is the actual Iron River that runs by a nice little park right there in town. Just take N. 4th Avenue to Nanaimo Park. Not exactly a wilderness experience but there are some great little sections right there that are full of brookies. I'm okay with mentioning this specific spot because Dark Waters actually did a little video on fishing the Iron River in town. Otherwise, naming rivers in a public forum is off limits.
