I spend a beautiful, late summer day exploring the higher elevations of Western North Carolina in search of cooler water and wild trout. It was a beautiful day exploring some of the headwaters of small streams in the Nantahala National Forest.

Really enjoying all of your content. I live here in Asheville and grew up in Macon county and love getting out on the streams. I've been all over WNC fishing and it's tough to beat. Keep up the awesome work!

Had my best day up there. And while the gorge was on fire during the drought. 60+ fish in only 60 yards of river.

@@ColbertOutdoors i recommend the carrot nymph for right now. I didn't swap it out for over 30 fish. Look it up, really simple tie.

Thank you! A beautiful way to start my day. Just a little advice: Learning to push out a line with a couple stiff shakes of your rod from side to side followed by a good roll casting may help you get the line further out without having to false cast in tight spots. I love to high stick tight streams but sometimes it can be a pain without a good roll cast. Just a thought. Great videography btw! I subscribed and look forward to your future videos. Thanks again!

Thanks for taking time to watch! Also thanks for the tip! Always open to learning and trying to get better. I figure the day I stop learning and growing is the day I need to stop fishing… haha. Thanks again!

@@ColbertOutdoors I live in Matthews North Carolina and have never been to the falls. However, I intend to retire to that part of the mountains as it is my lifelong dream. I'm a bass fisherman and stay in a boat but I aspire to trout fish with a fly rod like you are doing. I am living vicariously through your videos!
