Good fish. I'm gonna be heading out there this summer. Never fished in that section of Colorado. Your video is great, Thanks!

I’ll be back out there in mid July, I love that area

That’s a great section. Fished it as well as a section a bit further upstream - the weather in that area is wild; thunder booming and hail, drive down the road a mile or so and it’s sunny. Can’t wait to get back.

I just got home from that area. I came back a day early cause the fishing was not all that good unfortunately. Got there yesterday and caught two fish and caught one today. Water was higher than last year colder. The wind was not fun to deal with either, but if the fishing was good I’d have stayed. I love that area and maybe I’ll go back sometime next month.

@@TheGhillieGuyYY4U It's swift water, especially with how much of a release they're probably doing with this year's snowpack. I think if you head back in that time frame you'll find much more manageable flows with easier fishing.

@@ericrollins4607 I went a week later and it was a little better. I than decided to go way up stream above the reservoir and had a blast. Camped the night there and fished below the reservoir. I heard a week later around where I was fishing in this vid was fire but couldn’t head out there that weekend.

Looks like an awesome time, did those last couple fish come from the same river? I came across this river recently and am planning a trip there this summer. Just looking for any info possible, thanks for the enjoyable video!
@TheGhillieGuyYY4U8 ай бұрын
The last two fish did come from that same river, just further up from where I started. I love that area and river. I should be back up there either the third or last weekend in July. Thanks for watching and if you have any other questions let me know.

I've fished it many times. Great fishing with lots of public access below and above Platoro and around Aspen Glade/Menkhaven. The only problem I have with it is the RAIN! Monsoon is brutal here. You realistically can only fish a few hours a day because of the rain. Don't EVER hit the stream without a rain jacket. What he is catching is normal, mostly nice browns. The elevation is around 9000 feet.

Great video! I moved to the area you are in there about a year ago from Atlanta. The river flows through my property and I still haven't caught my first trout! lol. I need to get out there and try. Your video is motivational. I don't know how to fly fish. Do you have a suggestion for bait selection with a spin rod for this time of year? I would like to make a catch and cook video for my channel. Any advice appreciated. Thumb up, shared and subscribed.

Thanks for watching, subscribing, etc. That’s awesome you have property in that area with the river flowing through it! This time of year the fish will be pretty lethargic due to cold water temps, but I’m sure you can find some hungry ones. I strictly fly fish so I really couldn’t suggest any lures that might work. I’ve taught some friends of mine how to fly fish and I believe once you try it you may never spin fish again. If you’re interested I could teach you when I back in that area, hit me up on Instagram @the_ghillie_guy_yy4u I love that area! I still have footage from when I was there in October.

Sorry bud, but I typically do not share specifics such as that, which is why the real name of that river is not mentioned in the title of the vid. I will tell you that the title is a play on the real name of that river, comprende?
