Loved every minute of it - even the extra ten minutes sleep that I got while you knocked on the door 😂. Your fish was in absolutely superb condition - great to see. Thanks for joining me - I’ll have to buy one of those stripey fishing lines as they make a lot of sense and I expect my tiny blobs of floating putty do pull the nymph up a little in stronger flows.

It’s the Rio two tone indicator tippet. the different coloured zones help with different light conditions throughout the day

Thanks Steven. The grayling in the Frome are quite unique to be fair. They grow incredibly quickly considering the short lifespan. In my local River Chew, you’ll be lucky to catch one over a pound in a lifetime

Cracking day mate! The last cast bit made me chuckle😂! Just realised that hanak is a 9ft 6 but the cts I mainly use is 10ft 3👍

Can’t say i particularly like them though as they interfere with my peripheral vision so I’m back to wearing a pair of reading glasses around my neck and swapping over with Polarised glasses when needed for threading line etc. isn’t it great getting older!? 🤯 amzn.eu/d/fjXIafH

As a river Salmon fisherman, i loose about 60 flies in 6 trips.. i tye my own because store bought is 6 times as much

Wow! Ten flies a trip is a lot to be loosing, but I can well imagine that salmon flies are expensive. Same with pike flies to some extent. Thanks for leaving a comment and hope you catch on the next trip (and loose less flies!)

@Fishwish thank you.. most Salmon are above 15 pounds. Some, like the 1 on my profile picture are above 30 pounds.. if the water is low and clear , 6lb leader,but mostly 8lb..
