I am a reasonably experienced fly fisherman and really appreciate the hints and suggestions presented here. I'm experienced around water having lived and worked on the wet coast most of my life so I don't underestimate the power of water- a deadly beauty. One piece of safety equipment, I would add to this list and nearly as important as a wading belt (it's saved my ass a couple of times) is a wading staff. It's a fantastic aid when crossing streams, feeling out depths and for general hiking. If you don't have one, I highly recommend getting one and adding it to your tool kit. It'll make your day better and safer. Namaste` BC

How true it is. "The biggest fish I ever caught was in the middle of a downpour."
