Күн бұрын

In this episode of Wooly Bugged, I travel to the Endless Mountains region of Pennsylvania with Jared to explore a steep drainage for wild brook trout. We find cool water, beautiful waterfalls, and a great population of fish. Our adventure is interrupted when a large thunderstorm blows over the mountain and creates flash flooding conditions. Please be aware of your physical limits before attempting to travel to backcountry areas to fish.
99% of my videos are self-filmed. 99% of my videos are on water I've never fished. All streams are accessed on foot.

It’s crazy how clear that water still is even after all the runoff! Awesome footage!

Gorgeous natives. Reminds me of my northern new England fishing trip to NH and VT. I gotta get back out to central PA for some small stream natives!

Great video. I love those small brookie streams. I can tell you do also. Now I’m anxious to get back up to my camp in Sullivan county. BTW, I for one appreciate how you handle those fish!

You made good decisions; I'm at my NH cabin this weekend ( July 18) and hoped to get out on our brookie streams, but we too have had30 hours of torrential rains, water has come way up, and the color is like chocolate milk- such is life! You caught some gorgeous wild trout during the early part of your day, and stayed safe! Win, Win!

Agreed Jeff, hopefully all this rain will taper off some and allow for some great fishing into August before the spawn!

G'Day, Always enjoy watching your fine quality videos. Lovely looking water and brookies. Our trout streams are closed until early September. There's been some torrential rain and flooding fairly recently. I had a look at the stream that flows at the bottom of my garden and pools are now riffles and riffles are now pools! It will be like fishing a new stream in September. Cheers, Steve.

Another quality video - it was good that y'all got off the water when you did. I just got back from fishing in Colorado, and for the most part, I had nice sunny skies, but the last day, what I thought was a little shower popped up; it eventually turned into quite a heavy downpour, with hail. What I've noticed out West, with that thin air, is that there's no low rumble of thunder - it sounds like a rifle shot.

Ya I don’t mess around with lightning. If I hear thunder anywhere close I consider packing it in… at least temporarily.

There were some wicked downpours last week. Sunday evening. Monday evening, Tuesday evening, and Friday evening! Not to mention Saturday afternoon!

I cant remeber which video it was an im rewatching them now trying to figure it out but one of your videos you fished a nice river that had noce browns an you mentioned that it was a 30 mintue hike into the stream I love fishing alone without crowds so this spunds like a prefect day trip an im trying to remember what the name of the stream was.

Great video and a little different from the aspect of high water and how quickly things can change! Beautiful Brookies before the Deluge! I was curious on what kind of snake chaps Jared was wearing? Have you run into many Rattlers in that County?

My wife was up at our camp on little kettle last week same thing, storms all week just blew the streams up instantly.

Yikes! I kept thinking, I hope they found cover on the "escape route to the vehicle" side of the stream.

Fortunately we were on the right side of the stream down low where it was dangerous. Once we got up higher in the drainage we were able to cross.

Joe, I don't use insect repellent at this point. I wear Simms Insect Stopper shirts and in the worst case scenario, I'll break out my Thermacell.
