Leader is way to long, my leader is just short of 3ft total, you can damage your guides by stripping knots through all day when you go to figure 8. 2ft of 40lb perfection loop knoted to 12 inches of wires with a clip to your fly works perfectly fine, many musky in the boat with that leader

I do the same thing just with a big perfection loop on the 20 lb and all my musky flies have nylon coated wire on them.

How do you switch out flies quickly and efficiently with this setup?

Roelle Eugenio i use a plain old clip you use for lures , just a bit heavier 80lb clip or so, musky don't care about a clip, no retieing saves so much time, lots of musky in the boat on that setup for me

Can I use 50 to 100 pound power pro or 20 pound fluorocarbon as a bite guard for small to medium pike and muskie?
