Re: the oar rights comment - they actually serve a very important purpose, and it has little to do with rowing ability. On wide smooth tailwaters like the Delaware where you are often head hunting pods of rising trout, the oar rights keep the oars vertical in the water while the boat is anchored. The vertical oar blades function like a rudder and keeps the boat from swaying widely side to side in the current. I've rowed with and without them, and it's no contest they work.

Love an old hyside! Bombproof metal values. Good call on the counter weighted oars. Cataract oars outdo heavy carlisles every time. I would also mention drybags like Bill's bags, extra gloves and a flip line.

Get one of those stiff foam coozies and glue it to a part near the rowing seat. Then you have a cup holder
@AnonymousOtters

You can generally spot an inexperienced rower pretty quick when they dis oar-rights. You aren't supposed to row with them up against the oar-lock. You put them farther up the shaft towards the handle, so that when you let go of the oar it orients the blade vertically every time. This has two advantages. The first is that the blade is in a consistent orientation when you pick it back up so that it is ready for a stroke immediately. This is priceless in a tense situation. The second is that when anchored, the oars drop alongside the bow and act as a rudder, minimizing the amount the boat is swayed in the current.

This video is great! Hey for a cup holder what I did was cut a short piece of PVC then made horizontal slits wide enough for a cam strap and duel use the strap to hold my dry box in case of a flip and beer

sun is your rafts worst enemy. 303 is a great product. I also bought a medium size car cover at Canadian Tire (it was way cheaper then an actual boat cover), and popped a bunch of tarp grommets in it to allow rain water to drain out. I have a similar old raft (1994 NRS self bailing raft) so the rain water flows the holes in the cover and out the sides of my boat. I really like that roller bar and the tilt deck. My Buddy in Colorado has the roller on the side of his canopy to get rafts on top of his truck and it is the cats ass.

Instead of nylon rope for the , "Oh Shit" line on the outside, I use one-inch nylon webbing. It's a little harder to rip a fly out of but it's easier on the hands for the sometimes non-fishing float with kids climbing in and out on a hot day. Love your videos. After 18 years of being a native calm floater/fisher on the Missouri River from Wolf Creek, Montana on down, I wish someone would do the, "How to Be A Good Guide" lecture at each put-in each day.

Put a little platform in the front like a helipad for a drone landing base. I know you are thinking how will I land it and when it lands on the pad it will fall off. Use velcro on the drone foot and it will stick give it a try, it would be the first.

2 ideas on the beer can holders which you probable already know or seen but hey. L'il sucker koozie work on the dry box (don't know with all the stickers) also stick on the boat, my prefered beer holder is made by my friend Leo @ Montana Raft Frames u-bolts right on the frame in a convenient location. Also look at Leo's Rod Dog we helped design for our guide boats we're starting to run one on either side. And a Hiuge shout out to brilliant idea of the lock box always something with the shuttle keys!!!

I can’t live without it. Can’t stand being a bank maggot. In Alaska you gotta have a way to get away from tourists.
