Best explanation of what should be happening in any forward cast I’ve ever seen on the Internet. I now call the roll cast the triangle cast. great job.

This is the first demonstration I have seen on KZbin that isn't just a guy doing a roll cast and saying "see, that's how you do a roll cast". Thank you for making this an intuitive experience. I've always had too much line in the water and not applying power in the right spot. This video solved years of frustration thinkin maybe I was just an idiot.

I've watched many youtube videos on roll casting, this one does such a good job at not only the how buy also breaking down the why in the techinque to make the line do what is intended. Now that i better understand and can visual the why my roll casting has improved 10 fold. Thank you so much. Such a great help for both a beginner and experienced fly fisherman. Great job!

Wonder if we went there now if that casting pool would have honey in it instead of water

but if you dont want line past 1 meter behind you becuase of vegetation. basically limits the lenght of your cast?
@tajmenn6 жыл бұрын
You can try to lift your rod high then to compensate for no room behind. What you need is weight behind you. You can choose right line for this kind of situations. But in the end of the day, there are spots that no human can make decent cast and we just have to accept our limitations. What is bad for us anglers is good for fish, they have a sanctuary to have a break from two-legged predators.

Does the rod length and weight matter for the cast?
@jaypible56406 жыл бұрын
longer rod can load (bend more) and heavier rod can handle heavier line (line = weight to throw: heavier line more weight to throw=more distance)

Gennerally speaking, it is bad form to punch members of the audience (5:54). Lucky he didn't get knocked on his ass.
