After my last fly fishing trip to the little stream for the wild brown trout, I had to get back there as quickly as possible to try for the one that got away. No spoilers but it got away again!

I love that you show the reality of your fishing trips and don't edit out the less than perfect moments, like losing a fly or getting tangled up in a branch. Hi Neil. Thanks for watching and the comment. I pretty much always use an elk hair caddis, approx size 14. I will change occasionally but I use that one fly at least 90% of the time.

@@WestCountryAngler I have had some interest on the elk hair caddis but I found this year that the blue-winged olive seems to be the fly of choice. I am also fishing a relatively small stream and managed to pull out a 1.5lb wild brownie using a size 16 bwo so may be worth considering

hi Paul, I had one that got away this week, it rolled over showing a big belly and a tail like a shovel then plunged for tree roots and snapped 5lb tippet like it was nothing and I would put it at around 5lb .....still crying in my beer lol, mike
