That was awesome Norm. It was great to see your approach on fishing them. As soon as I seen you make a mend down stream, I thought he's on it. Was also interesting to see which streamer they would pick most. It seems they was picking the point fly most. But was this due to colour or position. May be next time you could switch them. Put the white on the point. This is something I constantly do . Switching it around, trying to find out more all the time. Great stuff Norm. Take care mate. Shaun.

Hi , I am a big fan , I love the channel ,and I cannot thank you enough for the effort you provide for the sport .I have a question : when it comes to euro nymphing , how do you adjust the tippet length vs the water depth ? Many subject matter experts claim if the fly is touching the bottom , the fish won't touch it . Can you please elaborate or make a video .Your help is always appreciated .

Thanks for watching and I apologize for the delayed reply. This is a good question and one worth exploring. Quickly, I take the average depth of the area I will be fishing and match the length of my tippet from tippet ring to dropper, adjustments may be necessary if you find yourself in deeper water than the depth you started in. Then 24 inches from dropper to point fly. Thats basic, but an easy guide to follow. Whether fish will eat off bottom is up to the activity level of the fish, I have had a lot of fish get peeled off the bottom.

I also enjoy a good day of throwing streamers during a light snow flurry, super peaceful. i've always had success with black variations in the winter. black/silver, black/gold, black/read, black/purple, black/chartreuse. i usually fish sink tips with less weighted flies, though. might have to try your method of floating line and heavier flies and see how i fare with that rigging next trip
