Awesome video and fishing!! Your creek looks just like one of my local favorite creeks we have here in West Virginia USA. It’s loaded with big wild browns. Thanks a bunch !!!

Hi Tom. Any chance you could share your hopper formula or do a video for us? I have tried to tie a few different types but no luck. My dog likes them though 😂

Another great video. I am assuming SW creek. Do you have to vary your set up or technique from the freestone rivers in NE?? Other than the obvious river flows etc.

Not really, the length of leader depends on the length of drift I’m trying to achieve. If I’m fishing smaller dry flies looking for longer drifts I go a longer leader, fishing short drifts and slapping a bigger dry around like this you can get away with a shorter leader. Hope that helps. Cheers Tom

Yet again good vid Tom. You mentioned using a tapered leader; do you tie up your own leaders or are you using a one-piece premade leader?

Thanks Jason, I do both depending on the fishing and types of flies I’ll fish. But in this video I had a 10ft 5x tapered leader which I extended with 6X tippet to suit
