Welcome to Sydney, Australia! Fly, Land, Explore Sydney.
We departed Gainesville, Florida on December 24, 2023, and landed in Sydney, Australia on December 26, 2023. Christmas Day was lost due to the International Date Line, and the 14.5 hour flight across the Pacific Ocean. Many thanks to American Airlines for making our trip a very smooth experience all the way!
In this video, JOM and LGC (Lady Gravel Cyclist) of the Gravel Cyclist crew show a little of their flight experience, and their very first day riding bikes in Sydney, just an hour or two after touching down.
Sydney, Australia:
"Sydney is the capital city of the state of New South Wales, and the most populous city in Australia. Located on Australia's east coast, the metropolis surrounds Sydney Harbour and extends about 80 km (50 mi) from the Pacific Ocean in the east to the Blue Mountains in the west, and about 80 km (50 mi) from the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and the Hawkesbury River in the north and north-west, to the Royal National Park and Macarthur in the south and south-west." - Wikipedia.org
"Greater Sydney consists of 658 suburbs, spread across 33 local government areas. Residents of the city are colloquially known as "Sydneysiders". The estimated population in June 2022 was 5,297,089; the city is home to approximately 66% of the state's population. The city's nicknames include the "Emerald City" and the "Harbour City".
Reminder:
ALWAYS BE A STEWARD FOR GRAVEL CYCLING: Respect the roads, respect the locals, respect the land, respect your fellow cyclists.

Really digging the video tour, and I notice that you have a Dark Speed Works top tube bag! I have a similar bag, and they’re one of the ONLY aero bags made here in the US. Awesome kit. Best Regards from a fellow Floridian. 😊

@@mattdowney6540 This idea has crossed my mind, and bringing one across in bits. No desire for a LHD Ute (outfit in Denver pretty much does what you are talking about, but convert to LHD, which is a $hit ton of engineering). RHD or nothing for me.
