In 2019 my son was killed in a motorcycle accident at 24 years old... My heart was shattered into a million pieces then 5 months later I was diagnosed with Leukemia...I have major depressive disorder and PTSD as a result... It was almost two years ago….. late one night…..that I stumbled upon her AGT audition. I knew nothing about her. The next morning, I couldn’t wait to watch it again, and I was excited to research how she was doing……. only to learn that she died on the day I discovered her! And so began several weeks of watching her videos and news stories about her. What an amazing inspiration she has been to so many around the globe, and to me! I’ve shared her story and videos to many people who’ve never heard of her. The Lord does indeed work in mysterious ways!

My mum passed away 7 years and 4 months ago today from cancer and her name was Jane too. I am an only child, born and raised by a single mum. It all never made much sense to me why she had to pass away. I told myself that it was okay, it's just the world doing it's thing. Never understood why but I knew that it was okay. I break down every so often like a toddler unable to stop the urge to suckle and their mum's away because, well, I'm just human and there's only so much I can control. Nightbirde's music just drives me to tears man. I'm turning 30 and the amount of emotion I have to walk through while listening to her beautiful voice reassure me that all things do eventually come together and make sense no matter how much you question the world, drives me to my most emotional mind space man. I love her music and may hers and my mum's beautiful souls rest in peace, amen.
