I’ve been watching Etika since smash 4 started leaking, I was just 12 and thought he was the funniest and most underrated KZbinr out there, Every time I had a rough day, I always end it all right because I always got to hop on to his livestreams, His DLC reactions were the most unique over-the-top and iconic memories I cherish to this day, Unlike you, I never donated, even though I really wanted to, the way he interacted with his viewers made his seem so real! Unlike many other KZbinrs that started doing unbelievable amounts of clickbait around late 2014 and 2016... The hype for the Nintendo switch was nothing short from the best damn ride in my life. Around mid 2018 I stopped watching him because I thought he was changing for the worse. He started doing crazy stuff and got really edgy. (He was always edgy, but in the funny sort of way) but I remained a subscriber for ovations like splatoon 2 and ARMS news. I was there when he posted P*rn on his KZbin channel, I was really concerned, I was in the majority of folks that thought he was hacked, but then I saw a video of him having a mental breakdown because of Twitter suspending his account for using the N word constantly. I saw his next mental crackdown live on twitter and Instagram, those days I was genuinely depressed that my childhood KZbinr is going crazy. I am not going to go any further details because I get really sad every time I hear his words from his final video in my head. I got mad respect for you lucbomber, your donations and memes with Etika always made the streams more enjoyable, I know I rambled a lot here but I never shared my feelings of this with anyone, everyone I know either doesn’t know Etika, or didn’t like him. I’m 16 and about to turn 17 and all my great years I owe them to Desmond. May he sleep easy now. Good night.

I never actually watched Etika back in the day even though all my friends did. When I heard he passed I decided to go back and watch a bunch of videos of him. I really regret not enjoying this man's content and I hate that he was in such a dark place mentally that he decided taking his own life. All I ever saw was the way people laughed at him on social media and it's such a weird, sad feeling to only discover a creator when they're permanently gone. I know he was a good dude and he's chilling in a better place now.

I was in Summer School when i found out that Etika died. I literally cried in real tears when they found him dead. So heres a little story of how i liked etika. Ok?.... It was March of 2018 i was a little fan of Nintendo then im a big fan now. And i scrolling down my KZbin and i found a video of The Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo Switch Reaction video. Etika was in that compliation and his reaction to the new Smash was hilarious and then i started watching him again, again, and again. And then i became a big fan of his videos. And then on June of 2019, i was in summer school and i was on my computer and looked up Etika to see how he was doing. But then when i saw that the NYPD said that they found Etika's Body next to the Brooklyn Bridge. I was SO devastated from this story. I legit cried my ass off. And then Fast Forward to December 5th, 2019(Which is Today) I saw that KZbin Rewind 2019 on my recommended. I watched the whole video and found out that Etika wasnt in it. I got fuckin pissed. And then this vid got more dislikes than 2018s Rewind. I disliked because Etika wasnt in this video. Its Bullshit from KZbin Anyway, i missed him and i hope yall did to. R.I.P. Only caught this video now, damn what a wonderful and heartfelt tribute! I remember first discovering him through Nintendo reaction compilations like from Nintendo Unity for Cloud or Bayonetta in Smash 4, and I'd see Etika's name pop up a few times. I loved the videos he'd upload, and he was one of the few streamers I've ever went out of my way to catch live when I had time. Seeing his mental health rapidly decline in public was confusing and worrying, especially with how divided people were about him (with some people thinking he was faking it for attention and whatnot). But not as scary as when he uploaded his final video to the platform, before it swiftly got taken down by KZbin for violating community guidelines. I distinctly remember most of the people were in the comments desperately hoping he was listening trying to give words of encouragement and affirmation (myself included) with a couple trolls being super disrespectful causing arguments. Desmond, you were more than just a content creator, you were a wonderful human being who entertained an audience the best way that anyone could: by staying true to yourself. Your legacy and impact on the Nintendo scene and internet in general amount to so much more than just a few memes like you thought it would, you touched the hearts of fellow Joycon Boyz around the world (case in point, I'm in New Zealand!). No one had the energy the vibes that you did. While we'll never see you again, I hope you saw from the other side just how much love people have given you during this time and still give you to this day. Rest In Peace Desmond Daniel Amofah. You will never be forgotten. Take care of yourself up there man, and please have yourself a damn good one.
