FLY TV - Sight Fly Fishing in the Alps 🇦🇹

What's better than doing sight fly fishing for big brown trout, grayling and rainbow trout? Well, doing it in the crystal clear streams of the Austrian alps, of course.
In this episode, we'll get to join Vision World Team member Jarkko Suominen as he meets up with professional fishing guide Jan Kubala who knows these streams as his own pocket. Except some breathtakingly beautiful views and crazy fishing action, they'll also walk us through the keys and differences between French/Euro nymphing and long line nyphing, show us how to put together a leader + indicator setup and lots of other great tips on how to get out more from your nymph fly fishing.

I’m from Peterborough, NH, USA. My cousins own the Haus Panorama in Nesslewangle. I love fly fishing here in the US., I was there 33 years ago skiing. I can’t believe there is fly fishing like that so close to where my cousins are and where I was.

I've looked at a couple knot studies where they say the improved clinch is actually less strong than a regular clinch. I feel as though if you tie the regular clinch it will never come undone. Just thought I'd mention it as I used to use improved but noticed more break offs.

Hi Kevin! I also use improved clinch only with monofilament. It's more slippery and I've had few knots come off when doing normal clinch. But with fluorocarbon I always use normal clinch.

I suspected that huge fish was going to be lost when he ran downstream like that. The only way to land that is to run like hell to stay close to it, but that was impossible. Great camera work, guys, the music, you have a new subscriber. :-)

Tactical gear question: 'In this very clear and (very beautiful) relatively slow moving water in the beginning of video at the 5:00 minute, Jarkko fished a very stealthy situation...(btw, well done!) I really liked that your line landed so softly and didn't spook that fish in the clearest water ever... So, when you caught that brown trout what type/brand of floating fly line did you use for stealth? Weight forward or double taper...What brand do you recommend for such situations?' thanks...

Nice video. Good information on rigging the line and leader. I like the narrow spool fly reel. Narrow spools help to eliminate line barreling. I have a Lamson Speedster. What is the name of that reel? Any USA distributors? Thanks.

The reel I used is Vision XLV Nymph. I think it might be hard to get in the US.
