Wow! That is certainly a testament to the fly. Thanks for the note John, and I really appreciate you watching the channel. If you ever have any recommendations for some of these legendary flies, let me know. I'd love to tie some for the channel. Cheers. -Matt

Enjoyed this one. Glad that you are keeping it real and not editing out every little thing. Nice response for your book giveaway, too. Congrats to the winners.

Oh, I still edit out plenty! This darn hackle took me three tries. And the practice fly right before was almost perfect! Something just happens when you push record. 😁

The one thing that really stands out about your channel is the fact that you give away more prizes than people that have way more subscribers and ones that make money on their channel.Keep up the good work!

I loved the intro. So from a fishing Monk, to a fishing Nun. So with her being a Fly Fishing Nun? Could we also include the Flying Nun or maybe even the Singing Nun? If so? Man do we ever have a multitude of possible names for new flies???Now this is all in fun. No disrespect to anyone or religious beliefs. Just an attempt at a little fun on Matt’s intro. Sorry, I found it amusing. Ok. I’ll get to the point. Another great video Matt. Beautiful job of tying this fly. Truly grateful for you sharing it. Thank you buddy.

Really like that fly. Just by changing the dubbing color it could represent several different hatches. Thanks Matt

You got it Jason; appreciate you watching! And I think you're right... I could see this being an effective pattern with an olive or even darker body. I did read when researching this pattern that the red tail basically becomes irrelevant after about 8-10 feet deep as the fish wouldn't differentiate colors in the darker water.

Great tie, Matt. I was lucky enough to pick up a grey hackle dry fly that Paul Hughes (Linville, NC) tied a few years ago @ Faye Hughes store. There was enough flies in that old store to start a museum. Keith

Keith- that's awesome! Are you the one who told me about the Tomah Joe? You've got to sign your name... I had forgotten you used Saundra's account!! Anyway, I'm getting the materials for that fly and I can't wait to give it a shot. It might be a couple of weeks before I can get a video of it, but I definitely want to. Thanks again for watching. Cheers. -Matt

I love the series, I have gotten lots of fish. Nuns - Female. I have looked at that fly fishing encyclopedia.

Ha! Yes, nuns, monks... not the same thing. It is a great pattern encyclopedia, although at about $40 a bit pricey. But with over 1,600 patterns in it, it could keep a tier busy for years!

Hey Matt! Very nice as always. I noticed some interference sound when you were tying the fly? I thought it was my phone's speaker but I don't think it is anymore. It's not a deal breaker but just thought I'd let you know

Great Fly I like its originality. Also; this book can still be had for about 4.00 USD I have this book the first year it printed. For those who want to see take a look on EBXY. The Best One Thousand - Paperback By Randle Scott Stetzer

Thanks James! Are you talking about the FFF Pattern Encyclopedia? That is still $40 on Amazon so it's not a cheap one as far as I can tell.

I just checked it out, and that's going to be a tough fly! I haven't done any warm water flies yet, but I do want to start tying some from the Marbury book so when I get to that (maybe early next year), I'll definitely try to add this one. Thanks for the recommendation. Cheers. -Matt
