I learned a new way to tie a muddler head. Now all mI have to do is get the courage to try it. Thanks for the video,
@Thefeatherbender4 жыл бұрын
Get right on it Keith, just remember to clean the hair well and stack it before you start tying. You'll need two bunches of hair the same size and one a little smaller. Good luck!

Something strangely satisfying about watching the deer hair being trimmed by a razor blade...another outstanding demonstration and superb pattern performed with great patience and meticulous precision.

Barry! Received the card you sent me, along with the sticker, AND fly!!! Wow! Thank you very much!!! Way more than I expected! Btw! Great video! Going to take a crack at it tomorrow. Like the razor blade holder. A lot safer than holding it with just your fingers.
@Thefeatherbender4 жыл бұрын
GOOD! Glad they arrived. The razor blade holder is from Stonfo, not that expensive and makes shaving deer hair easy.

Awesome fly! This version doesn't have the grey squirrel tail but a few wraps of hackle. I wonder what makes it fish differently from the original muddler minnow, or do they just perform the same.
@Thefeatherbender2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Wenbo. Good question! I don't think any fly fishes as good as the original muddler minnow... but its another version that does work, especially for sea run browns.
@wenboli53492 жыл бұрын
@@Thefeatherbender Thank you for the response! This version looks very nice to me. I believe it fishes well too! Really enjoy your tying.

Hi Doug, thanks. The salt water hook is for when I am fishing sea run browns in salt water.

Very nice. Love the barred effect. I was thinking with this virus stuff I would be able to have time to type some flies. Nope, other people have my time instead!

Hi Barry! What species of feather did you use?

Love that grizzly in a Muddler. Is the fishing for sea run browns done mostly during low light or at night? BTW how you doing? Thanks for the good will and humorous posts on your website. Keep the faith my man. Cheers

Hi Joe, Thanks. No its done all year at any time of the day from the shore. But the best times are when the water starts to get a little warmer +7C and up, hight tide, full moon, south wind. If you can get all these things to fall into place at once....
