I've seen the newer Mustad hooks, like you used in this fly, are they a better hook choice ? Stronger, lighter ? I'd like to send you a few pics of some of my flies. I've used dubbing loops. I like the ease of the sparkle minnow brush. I've used the sparkle minnow with a cone head and have caught numerous smallies in the Michigan great lakes regions

A dubbing loop of Ice Dub is the original way to tie these....works great.
