This is a well thought out pattern. Easy to see on the water and the profile from the bottom seems right on. I like how you post wrapped the poly yarn, makes it stand up well. I,m going to tie some up and toss them under the trees for waiting gills. Thanks for sharing.

I like the use of the flat foam and the black dubbing. The legs are not necessary. Maybe a turn or two of black hackle.

What are the legs you used?
@twiggbarryflyfishing58499 жыл бұрын
Frank Williams These are just rubber legs. The kind you get from electrical products that come in strips, and I separated each strand, but you can buy them from fly stores as well.

Had to mute it. "music" was awful. Not a bad pattern though.

I don't like little dinky fur ants.....this will float like a cork and won't sink
@twiggbarryflyfishing58499 жыл бұрын
Thanks Bob. That's the idea ;) Not long now until this becomes in season over our way. Hopefully get some footage at some point of this baby in action!

Bob Billy Don't quote me, but I think "floating" is the intention of a tier who uses a foam body.

@@twiggbarryflyfishing5849 Your videos are very good. However, the choice of music is very annoying.

I like everything except for the legs- just not a great fan of artificial legs of this kind- they look daft and very unnatural in my opinion.
@twiggbarryflyfishing584910 жыл бұрын
Appreciate the comment! I agree that it doesn't look very natural. This is definitely a near enough is good enough version for when the fish aren't picky. Do you have a pattern you prefer? Would love to see it/them if you do!

Strip some hackle and use the quill (or trim close with scissors to leave barbs) always better than the rubber plus they can be formed.
