Slick idea on that looping technique! Reducing bulk and gaining length!

I like the use of the flat foam and the black dubbing. The legs are not necessary. Maybe a turn or two of black hackle.

New sub✌. Lovely touch at the end, adding the dubbing to control the legs.

Hi! This is my second year tying tube flies. I have just discovered this video a few weeks ago.I have never seen a tandem tube fly like that before. I have in mind fishing this for walleye. I would like to know how you rig this fly. Thanks. Daniel Bérubé

The beads are similar to Hareline/Wapsi Fly Tyers Glass Beads. They come in 4 sizes with 40+ beads a pack: I bought the small size (hook size 14-18) in orange and pink. Tie on...

I have some videos of Brian Chan demonstrating many different midge patterns using for some acetate yarn and acetone to quickly liquify the yarn producing a transparent body. No I haven't tied any yet but the impetus is still there. This said just for drill.

Really need to weight that fly with a few wraps of lead wire. Glass beads are not heavy enough
@twiggbarryflyfishing58495 жыл бұрын
Really depends on the context @Axemen604. I've tried these with lead wraps for lake fishing, and the time between fish seems to go up. It's worth the wait to use only the glass bead for presentation - far more natural looking. River fishing, I would agree with you, and I would swap the glass bead for tungsten.
@604axeman5 жыл бұрын
I just say this because I recently just tied about a dozen of these leeches with glass beads. Put one on at the lake and it wouldn’t sink. I even tried poking it under water to get it wet . Maybe I have tied too much dubbing!

I dig this dubbing style! is there a easy way to put the feathers on the clamp evenly?
@thomasgibbons3533 жыл бұрын
Did you find out yet? If not, the answer is, you need two clips, one to transfer to the other one. Just good intentions. Sorry I misnamed the Bulldog clips as Boston clips.

Just lost my entire reply. Thank you for the comeback. Two yrs. ago, amazing. Here is a gift of appreciation, buy this book: " Angling The World" by Roy Tanami. After reading it I would love to know where your head is at. I've been in that condition for 70 yrs. First affection occured to me at around 10 yrs. in the local fly fishing shop, the fly that got me was a Lady Beaverkill.

can that be fished in a lake, ? looks kind of sparse for stillwater , river would make it flow more like a steelhead popsicle.
@twiggbarryflyfishing58496 жыл бұрын
Sure can! Dress it the way you like it for whatever you're after, but we've found the sparser the better when it comes to lakes, to a point. Thanks for the thoughts!

I like it very much! I use a similar fly for the big trout in the Kola peninsula in Russia. The takes are breath-taking! I use foxhair for tail and round medium rubber legs instread of sililegs. I guess the flies would catch fish anywhere. My fly has caught several salmon as well. If you want you can see it here: www.fisheco.se/code.php?ID=62, page 102-113 (only in swedish).

Bobber the Clown I would normally fish scuds size 14-16, but this being a little more work to tie, usually size 10 or 12.
