I have some videos of Brian Chan demonstrating many different midge patterns using for some acetate yarn and acetone to quickly liquify the yarn producing a transparent body. No I haven't tied any yet but the impetus is still there. This said just for drill.

I like it very much! I use a similar fly for the big trout in the Kola peninsula in Russia. The takes are breath-taking! I use foxhair for tail and round medium rubber legs instread of sililegs. Great fly! I have found the holographic tinsel at Lowes at Christmas in a large hank with many colors. This eliminates having to cut bags. Take a look, I have been tying off of one package for 3 years now and have tons left.
