nice zonker! I cought most of my big brown trouts on a fast and easy variant of that fly. All black, no "head", some flash instead of silly legs.

Wicked little fly...which hook did you use?

Great fly again, you make it look so easy and you have a great attention to detail. I will try to tie some for the end of the trout season here in Ireland on the 12th. Maybe the Coke is essential? By the way, I had no luck finding the Eriks hooks you use, can you point me in the right direction? Thank you, Mel.

@@melmckenna4195 thank you! It’s spelled Ahrex Hooks. Pretty sure there are a few dealers in Ireland. 😊

You could moisten a sponge and keep it in a glass near your vise. That way, when you knock it over, no spill!

Thanks for all the videos, they're really helpful. I've noticed that you hardly ever weight your streamers, or at least i rarely see it. Is there a reason for that? Do prefer using sinking lines over floating? Or has it something to do with how you want the fly to behave in the water?
@Coastfly3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I dont ad weight to my flies because i fish with an intermediate line 90% of the time and rarely do i fish in water deeper than 2 meters. Also you guessed it with the behavior of the fly when its unweighted. that way i can make really slow retrieves and let the fly "hang" in really shallow water. Especially in the winther this technique has given me an advantage. :-)

I think you have to be very careful when shining light through clear plastic to set uv resin as many types of plastic will filter out all the uv range of light. For example my glasses only transmit 5% uv, I have a tester in work. On another note, I use spit all the time when tying flies so that never bothers me. Love the flies bud 👍
