During this tutorial, we discuss the notion of "hot spots" on flies, and possible materials to use. Next, the Walt's Worm (also known as the Crane Fly Larva), created by Walt Young, is tied, while referencing other materials used, including tungsten beads from Rip Lips Fishing: www.riplipsfish...
Thanks for viewing this KZbin fly tying tutorial, and I encourage you to view my additional videos at the following website: www.troutandfea...

Hi again Tim, I am watching old video's that are filling my time because everyone must be fishing. No new videos on my subscriptions. I use this time to catch up on video's I haven't yet seen on my favorite tiers. All the best and God bless. Sean

Sean Mooney I'm glad to know I'm one of your favorite's, Sean; thank you, sincerely. I always look forward to your comments, for sure. This fly is a great one, and I have caught some really nice trout on the "hot spot" version. You're right about the fishing; I have been getting out a lot before my school starts again shortly. From tracking my videos over the last few years, not as many tyers view them in the summer, hence you've probably noticed that I slow the # I'm releasing. Thanks again for taking a moment to comment. Tim

Thanks for the comments, Ryan; this pattern and the Frenchie are both great ones...no doubt. We are getting rain tonight in western PA; fishing Yellow anytime soon? I don't fish it often but would love to learn it. Email me if you're able to get out on it sometime soon; my email is listed in every video "About" page. Thanks again for the comments. TC

I am from western Pennsylvania, but also love to fish both the J and Spring; have you been on either lately? Any decent hatches?

+Stryker 2 Thanks for taking a moment to comment, and I bet that dubbing will work well (especially in high water and off-colored water situations. Good luck, and let me know how they work for you. Tim

That's too bad; we were thinking about running out tomorrow but figured the stream conditions may not be optimal.

Tim I see you have a Penn State shirt on. Where are you from in PA? I am from central PA and fish the Little Juniata and Spring all the time.

Hey Tim, I really like this pattern but I thought Walt's worm was tied with yarn. I know the killer bug is. I may be confused. All the best Sean

+Sean Mooney Hi Sean, and the Walt's Worm is tied with fur that is dubbed on. The pattern originates from a Pennsylvania tyer, and additional information can be found here: www.flyfishersparadise.com/fly-tying/walt-s-worm Thanks for checking, and I hope all is well. Tim

+Trouta Holic At this time, I don't; I mainly use fishing videos when I give presentations to large groups of people. I hope to begin integrating them in the future, and look forward to including them with the other types on my channel. Thanks for taking a moment to comment, and the Walt's Worm is a great pattern to fish! TC

+patrick smith Patrick, did you read the "Description" and title of this video? Credit was given to the originator of this pattern, and in this video, a variation was introduced. Tim
