Fly Fishing Wisconsin | Stream Review | Driftless Region Public Land | Bad Axe River Trout Fishing

Fly fishing big pieces of public land can sometimes be hard to do in the Driftless Region. That is why a place like Duck Egg County Forest is perfect for the more adventurous angler! With miles and miles of prime trout fishing, this should be high on your list of places to hit! I recently did two sessions on both sections of this river. Depending on where you jump in, you will have to be ready for different conditions. The dam that sits in the middle of this forest marks the dividing line between the upper and lower section of the Springville Branch of the Bad Axe River. These two sections (from what I experienced) are very different from each other. Each section will offer up their own set of challenges, but make no mistake you will always have a chance at some amazing wild trout!

Fished there the other day and had to switch to a 11-12ft leader and a small pinch on indicator to catch fish. Great vid, love to come home from fishing and watching your video!

Hard part is, where I live it also isn't as open, lot of tight streams. I Love just getting out on the streams! Hoping to make a trip over to the driftless this year!
