If you have been following our channel, then you may already know that I have been obsessed with 2-channel RC airplanes. Why? Because they provide the most affordable and easiest entry to our hobby. However, they also carry a critical responsibility: if they do not provide a great experience right out of the box, then they may scare newcomers away from the hobby.
Hence, as an RC flying enthusiast and big-time supporter, I feel like it is my duty to provide unbiased reviews and recommendations for the RC airplanes in this important segment. The more people become RC hobbyists, the healthier and stronger our RC community will be.
I purchased this little Cessna 182 imitation (I call it imitation because it is a taildragger and has tree propellers) from eBay for $25.00 with free shipping. Including the tax, it cost me $26.56 delivered. The packaging was of high quality with color pictures and all specifications listed on it. Inside the box, everything was well organized and tightly packed. The EPP foam felt very sturdy and smooth, so everything out of the box looked highly promising. It took me about 2 minutes to assemble the whole plane via three screws and the provided high-quality screwdriver. After putting in two AA batteries into the transmitter and charging the small 3.7V 300mAh Li-Po battery, the airplane was ready for its maiden flight.
In this first episode, I am showing the unboxing and assembly and also sharing my initial observations and thoughts about this this little Cessna 182 imitation. In the next episode, I am going to share the full, detailed maiden flight with you.
By the way, here are the reviews of my favorite 2-channel airplanes, the QF-002 Baby and the C-17 Transport Aircraft:
• QF-002 Baby 2CH Airpla...
• C-17 Transport Aircraf...
These two I call my "Buds". And now is time to figure out if this Cessna 182 is a "Bud" or a "Dud"!
