Flyboy

A quirky, magical tale following the creation of a wooden aviator and his plane. After the death of his inventor, an elderly toymaker, Flyboy is left in the back garden of the house on the hill as a weather vane. As the seasons pass he remains routed to the same spot until one fateful day a young boy finds his way into the garden.

Yes, it does seem to lend a few traits from Burton's works, but doesn't every story borrow, even if just a little, from those that came before it? The story was short and very simple, but it was a good story. There is definitely room for improvement, particularly in plot development and in some instances with the movement of the characters, but the scenery, tone, and flow of the animation was particularly good, in my opinion. It was well worth watching.

I'm very concerned about what the mean kid did after he landed?? He had to land sometime. I loved it but one little thing might have tweeked it up a little..one cut away to the evil boy being mean to the other toys and all of them being miserable and then when flyboy makes him jump in the bushes you show them all cheer at how great he is now -ya know, since they made fun of him before and all...classic stuff.

Edward Scissorhands, actually. The plot was of that, but the signature arm and leg length of Burton animations was evident, as was the curve on the cliff similar to that used in Burton films. I think the character of the boy has the most reference to Nightmare Before Christmas.
