@@ceciliatavarez5655 kinda idiotic yet fitting you say that given the nature of the foundation, but not all scps are like 173, 096 and are completely horrifying. Cain, Iris, all of the Bright family and Sam Howell being prime examples of just being anomalous people (though i don't know if you can count Sam anymore) you could just be joking, i get that, but my OCD makes me do this.

Okay. I legit teared up watching this. The atmosphere, the silent storytelling, the ENDING. The design of the monsters, frightening and ugly. But when you stop for a second, you realize they look... pitiable. Anger, grief, sorrow, pain. These are all UGLY emotions. It hurts to touch, like all the spikes poking from them. They feel twisted and loathsome inside you. They're scary to have. But they are human emotions, and the most empathetic of them. The demons tearing apart the house, and the boy's reminders of his father, only to put them back together in a new, beautiful shape... there must be an easier way to explain it, but like, broken things can still be beautiful. Or beautiful things can still be made from broke things. I don't know. But this was SO BEAUTIFUL!

DirgeOfCerberus111* The story shows a lil boy that lost his father... Maybe in a war.. Due to the Teddy Bear in the beginning wearing a 'Soldier Hat... The Boy is only stuck of memories of his father.. His father had an unfinished project (Fairest Wheel).. The boy cant seem to finish completing what his father and him worked on.. He battles his emotional demons... Sad, Sorrow, Anger, Depression, Regrets, Giving up... But his own demons help him battle it out... They allowed him to see the light in it all.. The end with the finished project... 😞 Completion and Closure 🙏

The complexity of this short film is absolutely insane. The amount of effort they put in to craft such a masterpiece is incommensurable. They really showcased the grief, anxiety, depression, and fears of the kid within all the monsters. The lesson as play is that to overcome ones fears they must first accept them. Marvelous. The kid was scared of the monsters, but to get past them, he must work with them.

SPOILER Summary: The kid's father promised they would finish building the Ferris Wheel(La Noria) when he returned form the war. His father died in the war and never returned, and the little kid was left to grieve his father's death, with the ferris wheel constantly reminding him of the broken promise. The Fish-like monster with the hole in its chest may be a representation of the hole in the boy's heart left by his father's death, or how the father might've died.

I don't know whether this movie is about letting go of the grief. 🤔 Grief itself is not bad, but when you allow it to overwhelm your thoughts and feelings, it becomes a monster. I still grief of my own dad's death (21 years ago), but I learned to live with it and remember him with a smile on my face. I think it is not about to stop griefing, but at the end, grief lost control over this brave young man. I hope I was able to explain my thoughts accurate... not a native speaker 🙂

This was amazing. The monsters themselves being represented as grief and fear after a loved one dies. We try to ignore and run away from our feelings. But the intensity of these emotions is meant to show how much we loved them. How beautiful the memories that we made with them are. Even though our time with them may have ended, the time we did have was beautiful.

The short Film beautifully captures what grief is like. At first the loss of someone eats you up with anger and sadness and all of the emotions that rip you apart, but then you get over over the loss of this loved one and instead you start celebrating their life and all the happy memories that came with them. This is when you finally come to terms with their death, yes the pain, the monsters are still there, but you have come to accept it and learn to look at the brighter side of things.

Accepting grief is really the only way to ever move forward. But especially with a story like this it iunbelievably hard. Not only because he is so young, but because of the uncertaint that you can have in situations like this. Sometimes soldiers are never found. But even if they are, sometimes there is no body to bury, That makes it so abstract, so unclear, so much harder to say goodbye and it prevents us from moving forward with our lifes.

The monsters wanted to help him because, of course, the monsters WERE him, manifestations of his pain, building a tool for coping with loss. He initially misunderstood them and mistook is grief for fear. He needed to literally face his own demons before he could move on and honor his father with good memories. This video has been posted for over 3 years. And I'm glad people (commenting) saw it for what it was, and I hope people suffering with loss can learn from the message.

@@vanceunpingco7767 Actually asking? If so, then its a simple answer. It hits close to home because people die, like parents and friends and family... And at first the pain makes us angry or scared.. Sometimes depressed. But then the pain becomes faded and the happy memories left bring us joy. Being able to remember the good times makes all the sadness and hurt go away. It hits close to home because we all know the feeling of losing someone but still being happy to think of them. Edit: "actually asking?" wasn't meant to sound rude! A revelation of how our tragic past can turn into something magical. The film shows how the monsters (hunting past) chase about the child in every room of the house where he and his father had memories, at first it had a vibe of thrill and horror because this is how we feel when we keep on running away from our unresolved hurts. Finally, come to a point where we can no longer contain it then we just burst out, hence the scream, and surrender to accept what had happened, from there we can create an exceptional and magical work of art that is where the monsters or our past ceases to hunt us.

The monsters were a projection of his pain, so when he expressed his emotions and repressed pain that he had felt had been chasing him, the beings purely projected of his pain and emotion then became truly represented as not menacing, but subjects of extreme sensitivity and pain created from years of trauma and betrayal. Our thoughts and can be our worst Monsters, but simultaneously our most empathetic companions: expressing our emotion is the key to confronting those repressed thoughts and pain; and resolving the effects of our trauma by looking them in the eye ; the effect here seen, the trauma had began to grow seeds of thought, personified as these creatures; that were reflections of their environments, and echo of that trauma. Heartless environment, heartless product. You must however shed light on the darkness to cease its spread.

OK Everybody: this is a short movie about *the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War and reconciliation*. The teddy bear wears a "gorrillo miliciano" the cap of the Republican Militia. The kid's father is seen in the photos as a Republican Militiaman himself in the photos in the box where there is a postcard saying he will help the son finish the wheel when he comes back. All the toys and settings are pre WWII. The photo frame with the disappearing photos (and top left out of the frame we see the kids's father again with the Republican cap) is a metaphor of how Franco's regime blotted out the history of the Republican side and its people. The black monsters that have taken over the house (Spain) are the Franchist (also called" los negros", the black like the Fascists). They look forlorn and are attracted by bright lights of an happier pre war Spain. Also they lament having no heart as a Civil war tears a nation apart. The monster though try to reconstruct the wheel and they have preserved all the things in their own way. They realize that a whole Spain needs everybody so they repair the (significantly red) centerpiece and only when the kid (the post war generations) spins the wheel it starts to work again in harmony.

"Lots of people say they’re afraid of the dark because they have no idea what could be hiding within, 'fear of the unknown' as most people call it… but what happens when darkness is all you’ve known for so long? How could I possibly be afraid of the dark… when every light in my life has already been extinguished? I am not afraid to face what could be hiding in the shadows… but I am afraid to face the broken lights that no longer bring me warmth. I’ve ignored them for too long, my monsters, they’re terrifying at first glance… yet they could never hurt me, far from it, they only wish for me to stop hurting… but am I strong enough to do so? I’m not sure if I can continue like this… I feel so alone… I miss you so much… I wish you were still here… I promise that I’ll try." This is one of the most beautiful, thoughtful, relatable, emotional short films I have ever seen, I can’t believe KZbin didn’t bring me to it when it first came out last year, that’s just insulting, but at last, better late than never. This deserves far more views and likes than it’s gotten, and above all else, it deserves no interruptions during a first watch, something like this should be watched in silence, that is if you’re looking to get invested, which personally, I believe is very worth it.

My heart knew I needed to see this. When my Dad died, I feel into depression and gave into my demons. I felt that weight of loss so much that I lost myself for a while, trying to find myself in loveless relationships and at the bottom of too many bottles, trying to become numb from the pain I truly felt. It wasn't until I accepted the pain that I finally let myself heal. If I could ever describe what it was like, this would be close. The anger and fear and suffering from loss this kid felt, to the beautiful way it transformed when he finally had acceptance of that loss. Thanks for making this amazing video and sharing it with us all. I felt this in my soul.

Color me crazy, but I think: the kid died and this is his version of limbo. Someone said that the father fought in a war and said they would assemble the ferris wheel when he got back: but the pictogram clearly shows them completing the ferris wheel (although the flashing pictures could be what he wanted to happen, and his father died before it did, but I'm just assuming not). So throughout the whole thing, the kid is pale and sickly; then he sees an emptiness in one of the monsters, which I assume is some form of cancer, hell the monsters themselves could be a metaphor for the cancer: killing him, yes but not out of malice or how terrifying they look, just because. Think the kid died and was unwilling to move on until he "finished" the ferris wheel, one that he couldn't fully assemble because it was broken from the start, so the monsters helped him come to a conclusion and he moved on. Probably a million miles off, but videos like this are so nice in the way you can't interpret a bunch of different meanings.

I assumed the large monster he walked up to represent his emptiness and sadness considering the whole was in the area of the heart and the kid grabs his heart as a response and at the end when he looks back at the monsters disappearing it's like hes being set free of those emotions.

@@Fallen7768 Exactly what I was thinking. The monsters were his pain, anger, sadness, loneliness, emptiness, etc... And the display of his precious memories they made at the end was the boy finally being able to move past the hurt, hence the "monsters" vanishing. As for the pale/sickly appearance @Regular Dude, heck, even adults dealing with depression and loss have trouble keeping tidy and maintaining basic self care, so how could we expect a child to do better? Just my two cents.

This movie hit home for me. It just made me ugly cry. My dad died when I was six. I didnt know him. But the memories I have make me feel like i knew him for a lifetime. I just love everything about this movie. The animation. Another person said it was better than Pixar. It sure is. Your interpretation of grief was on point governer❤Thank you thank you so much for this short.

i like the little detail and metaphor they did when he was turning the tiny gear (the one that makes the ferris wheel move), at first he was turning it counter clockwise (going back) maybe to say that he wants to stay in the past or cant move on and that leads to the ferris wheel breaking, later on when he turns the gear clockwise (forward) it moves smoothly and the ferris wheel works, i think this another metaphor saying that he moved on and is his life might finally be ok. I myself dont know the full story but the small detail that they put into this animation was amazing, i took notice in that small feature really quickly (and though i might be COMPLETELY WRONG) i just thought it was really cool how they added that and made metaphor of it.

from what i am seeing, the kid's father used to love going on a Ferris wheel with him, and he started building a toy version for his son, but in war he passed away and now the kid is going through depression, and so one night he has a nightmare about monsters chasing him through his home, but then he learns to accept that his dad is gone and that is how he overcomes the shadows of the past, the monsters are all the sadness and depression he has, that is why they act so aggressive yet at the end they still help him let go of the pain, and help him realize he can now start a new life, i also noticed that the ferris wheel at the end was made of everything the monsters broke, so in reality the reason they where chasing him is because they wanted to lead him to the ferris wheel, that is why all those lights on the stairs lit up, they wanted him to go there, i also think the one with the hole in his chest was supposed to represent his dad because the pictures at the beginning show he died in war, so i think the hole in the monsters stomach was supposed to represent a wound from a weapon, in reality, the monsters are the hero's and they love him very much

I believe that the Ferris wheel represents the kid's life, and the black creatures represent mainly his pain. Because without his father his daily life cycle (that repeats itself in a spinning rotational form). The Ferris wheel becomes so heavy that it breaks down, and through out the years (in the stairs scene) his pain only gets stronger, which then it's to much to be locked away. I believe the main character had suffered since he was a child and is still a child mentally because he couldn't move on......except in the end
@DrakeFellwing
@DrakeFellwing 5 жыл бұрын
I don't think he really 'moved on' as he found a way to use his pain to create something beautiful. Every piece of that final wheel were created by the objects destroyed by the monsters, 'his pain' he probably lashed out not knowing how to channel his grief, earlier on the box had a picture of his father in uniform I'm -assuming- he died in a war. Honestly having dealt with grief myself this hit home a bit x.x by the end of it I was friggin bawling because it is one of those things you look at it and you're just like, "All you want is for the pain to mean something," and for a moment it looked like he finally saw a bit of the beauty past it. Sorry about harping on but yeah >.> It's a beautiful video and cathartic.
