Hey there Dan,.. I remember when the pro’s were schooling me on casting.. too many false cast tends to promote bad habits… I’ve watch videos that were about my casting sessions and saw everything I was doing wrong… this is how I corrected my less than perfect casts….video is a great tool to analyze what you’ve been doing… just thought I’d share that with everyone… Dan, all your videos are quite informative and a great help to all who are into casting efficiently ..! Nice video as usual ! The Pyramid lake video was awesome…! 🤙😎👍

it really depends on what material rod you have. I have a glass fiber rod and your tips DO NOT work for that rod. In fact I think it even made my casts worse.... But I still love your videos, you are my favorite fly fishing youtuber! Keep going Dan! ❤

I imagine fiber glass is a whole different animal for sure. Thanks for being a part of my channel, cheers!

@@FlyFishDan yeah, they are a lot slower action and you gotta power out in the very last few inches of the cast. For a beginner like me it's pretty hard, but I'll get used to it.

A very helpful video! Does water loading also work with large pike streams and sinking lines? Or do I have to adapt my technique with sink cord? False casting with large streamers and sinking lines annoys me. Many greetings from Germany
@FlyFishDan9 ай бұрын
Thank you! Very cool that you are watching from Germany - awesome. Water loading will work with large pike streamers and sinking lines - you just have to be quick when picking up the sinking line, once it begins to sink, very difficult to water load at that point. Hope that helps! Cheers!

@@FlyFishDan Thanks Dan, helped me a lot. So similar to the roll cast with sink line, it works very quickly... I like to watch, I really like your simple, unconventional style. I'm going to watch a lot of your videos and practice practice practice. Greetings Jörg

Typically, that is due to the glue coming apart from the inside. What brand is the fly rod?
@alonsocastillo6369 ай бұрын
No I think it's the drag
@alonsocastillo6369 ай бұрын
It's when you tighten it and loosen it

Anybody else getting seasick with the added motion of the camera on the dock. Regrettably, unwatchable.

Sorry to hear that - the other 5 lessons are shot from a stable platform. Skipping ahead solves the problem. Cheers!

Unwatchable? What a diva, you probably should go watch videos of some reality TV show or something.
